  1. 4.5/5" hollow bellies I use just a 7' MHF St Croix Premier with Daiwa Fuego 6.3 reel and 17lb Defier mono. Nothing fancy needed for these type swimbaits.
  2. Xcalibur lipless cranks Rapala DT Thug
  3. X2 on Xcalibur One Knock, the Booyah replacement doesn't seem the same, I did catch a nice bass on Eagle Creek Reservoir with the Yo Zuri one recently so that might be the new go to.
  4. I'm from Indiana and sent to DVT in the past, no problems and fair pricing.
  5. I have both reels I like the SLX A better, but it's just personal preference. Is there an XT A out yet? If so that might be the ticket.
  6. Netbait Paca Craw is more effective for me than the Rage Craw in warm weather, and Zoom craw chunks in cold weather is better.
  7. I use Avid 6'8" MXF on poppers like the LC G-Spash and Pop X with Pro Qualifier reel 6.8to1 and 12 lb Pline topwater copoly. You can use a faster reel but no real need for it.
  8. All mono lines are pretty much copoly these days, even classic ones like Stren or XT/XL probably are.
  9. There is a used lowrider in the model you broke on ebay right now or go to Walmart and save some money on one in the EVO line, with the money you saved could add the 6-8 one for a little heavier action in spinnerbait/buzzbait/square bills.
  10. LC Silent Pointer 98 catches em for me.
  11. I have an Aird Coastal rod I bought for my bank fishing for $50, probably the same blank as an x, it's definitely a good rod on the cheap.
  12. I've used Yo Zuri alot and while the memory on #12+ is bad and gets coily, I never had knot problems and I just used regular old clinch and palomar knots. I did have breaks in the spool after over runs which is why I quit using it, but that is common with fluro. Now I use Defier mono lines mostly, they are discontinued but luckily I bought enough to last a few years, after that I might try Yo Zuri again in the #8 and #10 lines.
  13. Best budget reel is a PQ when Bass Pro has them on sale.
  14. Bass Pro has the latest PQ for $79.98 if you are a club member. This latest one has external dual brake adjustment like the $120 and up Shimano reels.
  15. Favorites are the Hildebrandt spin dandy 1/6 Oz, killer for crappie or the Stanley 1/8 Oz one. I have a few War Eagle finesse 3/16ths too .
  16. Poppers- 6'8" St Croix Avid MXF Buzzbaits- 6'8" Falcon Lowrider MHMF Walkers-6'3" Team Daiwa S MHF Frogs-7' St Croix Premier MHF
  17. They use to make Yo Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft for spinning, I wouldn't put the regular stuff on those reels. Something like Suffix Elite or Pline CX for that.
  18. I'm agreeing with everyone that said Chompers. Some real stinky stuff.
  19. I have both a 6'10" Team All Star MH, and a 6'10" H St Croix Premier, popular length 5+ years ago but not so much now.
  20. Luckily I bought some of both Defier lines a couple months ago!
  21. As a kid in the 80s I used them and liked them.
  22. There is a reason reel manufacturers do not make any of their high end reels out of graphite, having said that any reel could be a dud.
  23. You can get a SLX, Fuego, or Pro Qualifier for less and they are all aluminum frames, but if you want to try one out and purchase it tell us what you think of it.
