Dear Santee Klos....
I think that rod would look great under the tree. But you know what would look even better though. The Custom Skeeterboy just got that is right handed on the bearing down.

How many reel/rods do you own?
I have a lot of rods but many of them were inherited from my Grandpa when he passed away this summer. I have 12 rods and 13 reels 5 curado bsf, 3 chronarch 50mg's, 1 Calais 200, 3 Syemetries, 1 stradic 3 imx, 2 GL3, 1 st. croix tournament, 4 gl2, 1 TD L&T, 1 Shimano Clarus I only had 6 of the combos before he passed.

kb went to new store sportsman warehouse
There is a Sportsman's Warehouse about 2 hours away from me that i have been to once and I love it. They have real quality stuff and different brands than most local shop as well. I have a Cabelas about 30 minutes away from my house and I think the S.W. has better bait selection than the Cabelas. Cabelas has more rods and reels however.

An IMX rod that..
I would say the PR845C. Model Length LineWeight Lure Weight Action Power MSRP IMX 7' 10 - 20 1/4 - 3/4 Mod-Fast Med-Heavy $275.00 I have this rod but in GL2 (didn't need sensitivity in a crankin rod). I use this rod for primarily 3/8 oz and bigger crankbaits. This rod can cast a rat-l-trap a mile.

Digital Scale
I have the x-tools as well. The thing that sold me on the x-tools is that it floats. Being in a boat it seems like it wouldn't be to hard to drop or knock the scale out of the boat so i got one i don't have to worry about. The scale is right on as well, weight perfect every time.

what reel for cranks?
For what you are going to use the reel for i would suggest sticking with the 6:1 gear ratio. For lipless crankbaits you want to be able to burn'em at a high speed which is why i say say with a high gear ratio. If you were going to be throwing a lot of deep divers then you would want a 5:1. For a reel i would suggest either the calais 200 or the Chronarch 100B. My favorite reel, the 50mg wouldn't be my choice for those big baits. I use the reel for more finess presentations.

spiral wrapped
I don't remember which rod but some of the Quantum sig. series rods have a spiral wrap. I couldn't tell you which model's do but i remember looking at Cabelas and seeing some spiral wraps. I haven't used any of the rods and don't know how good they are but they did feel good.

Reel Choices for bait casting
Citica 100 http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Citica-100DSV-New-in-Box-06-Free-Shipping_W0QQitemZ140054626691QQihZ004QQcategoryZ36146QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I have not had to pleasure of use one yet but i have the 200D. I think the 100 size shimano is the perfect size for bass fishing and is a great reel. For $100 I can't think of a better reel. I don't think cabelas has the citica 100 yet, but fell the curado 100d and the citica will be the same size.

shot big enough for honkers?
Tom Bass Timmy shot 3.5 in mags this morning in it. We didn't get anything thought. We both shot 3.5 in mags. You really don't notice recoil when your focused on hitting your target. Just target shooting my shoulder would be killing me but when your out at the marsh recoil is the last thing on your mind.

Dad's Bday, Abu's Revo STX or Shimano Curado??

I have 100 bucks for a reel. Help me choose please
I agree on the reel, best spinning reel for under $100 is the symetre. For a rod, depending on your price range, i would sugjest one of the shimano rods. If you budget is over $140 then look in to the loomis and st. croix rods. Line, good choice.

Two Rigs Only
If you could only have two rods and reels for the rest of you life you are going to want something you enjoy and will last. I don't own what i said, but if I had to sell all my stuff I would take that money and buy those rods and reels. If i had to fish with only two rods and two reels i want the best two rods and the two best reels. imo.

any wrestlers?
You are going to be fine. I am going to wrestle 125 this year (practice doesn't start for another week) and right now i probably weigh about 133-135. In one practice i will usually lose about 2-3 pounds of water weight, over night you will lose on averge about 2 pounds. The main thing is watch what you eat and drink. good rod for a viento
I think if it were between a gl3 and st. croix tournament rod i would go with the tourament. I have both and think the croix with a viento would look sweet blue blank and blue reel. But a loomis imx and the st. croix tournament, go with the loomis. I don't know what size baits you use most of the time but the 7'6" med/hvy is rated for lures in the 3/8-1 1/4. If you are going to spend that kind of money on a rod just make sure you will be able to use it a lot.
