Looks like a nice crankbait but I'm with FBL.

I agree.I only use wide gap hooks on tubes,toads,flukes,etc.I fish big worms with a 5/0 worm hook.I get better hookups and I believe,less lost fish with straight hooks.

A sharp hook is a must,but on spinnerbaits I look for a light wire.I'll end up changing blades and skirts anyway.

I use a Fat Albert for a trailer, on both spinnerbaits and buzzbaits,when I want to get more action out of the presentation.I almost always use a trailer of some sort on both lures.

I am looking to have some custom molds made for jigs and spinnerbaits.Anybody know anybody who does this?Anything I may need to take into consideration?Thanks! CJ

My smallest bass was caught when I was eight years old I caught about a 2 1/2 inch bass on a rooster tail at a pond my Dad and I fished alot.Keep in mind I was only eight,so I told Dad the little bass looked like good bait.I fixed a hook and bobber up and threw it out in the middle of the pond.That little bass didn't last no time and I was hooked up with my longest standing PB at 4 1/2 lbs.That fish was my PB for over 15 years.

No matter the weight,she's a toad!Nice fish!I would say 5 1/2 atleast.It is hard to tell by looking at a pic.If you would have held her out like Bill Dance for the pic,some guys would have guessed 8!

Excellent question!A conservation official may be able to tell you what baitfish,perch,etc. has the highest population in that body of water.Does it make it the "main forage"?It may beens there are more of them but,is that baitfish the most efficent to feed on?Heres what I think,bass may have their own preference.I have caught bass in 1 foot of water and within the same hour caught them 15 ft. deep.Could the 2 different bass been feeding on the same type baitfish?Probally not.Mature bass are going to feed on what is most efficent.On another note,test have shown that crawfish are a bass' favorite.Is that because of taste or is it because they are easier to catch?

Senko and others are right.I lean toward anything that may draw a reaction strike this time of year.It may be fall feed but you may find bass on the sluggish side(ecspecially quality fish).Spinnerbaits have been my #1 go to lure this time of year.I have also found that I have had to aggrivate some bass with it to draw a strike.A couple of problem factors that I have ran into during fall feed: Fish gorge themselves on shad which are readily availible especially on the shallow flats.When there are thousands of shad and you are throwing only one lure you may need to stay away from the "match the hatch"theory.In other words,don't be scared to show them something they haven't seen.It may be what saves the day.

I would recommend using a trailer hook for any buzzbait or spinnerbait.I have caught to many fish on trailer hooks.All a trailer hook is for is to help get a hookset on fish that shortstrike the lure or just miss the front hook.

Compared to last year,this year's production wasn't as good.But,I feel like I have made alot of progress in every aspect.I am looking into making my own jigs and spinnerbaits this winter and taking my custom painted cranks to another level. Really this year has been a year of sewing.Next year perhaps I will reap!

Well,they got some colors coming out and/or are already out but,I like parrot and green tiger in the DT16.That new one that is white w/a lime or bright green back looks like a good un'. I have also posted this before but,if you take the bluegil and dye it's belly with chartuese worm dye,it works good.BTW, I fish deep offshore structure on a river chain resevoir with DT16's.

I hope they play tonight.I am in disagreement with Tony though.He said the desicion to start Weaver was a "no brainer".I think I would go with Reyes.He was unbelievable in game 1.Could have gave Weaver an extra day if the cards can't win with Reyes.I hope to see St.Louis win this at Busch!
