  1. How is this line? It's $2 on TW right now.... I was thinking of grabbing some 25lb and using it as backing?
  2. At over $100 you're getting an aluminum frame and spool in all three of them. Brake wise, the BB1 has a 6-pin centrifugal brake, as does the TProG (with an externally adjustable dial on the side). The MB has a combination braking system, with a 4-pin centrifugal and a externally adjustable magnetic brake. I've also been told that the MB is good to use in brackish water.
  3. I try to use the lightest line possible. In town where I do 90% of my fishing, so I use 10#. But I'd recommend 12#-15# FC for for what you're fishing.
  4. Make sure to check out the Dobyn's Fury swimbait rod. Can't give advice on the reel personally.
  5. I've sold 2 or 3 this holiday season, haven't had them returned. For what that's worth haha.
  6. Anyone here think of using a steelhead rod for crappie? They're longer, like a crappie rod, and most have that mod-fast action, which would be good for the softer mouths on crappie.
  7. You'll either want the new wide spool Super Duty or the wide spool BB2.
  8. Sounds like you need an all-purpose fast action rod. The 734 is Dobyn's general all-purpose rod, it'll be perfect for you!
  9. I wouldn't even throw a 1oz spinnerbait on that rod. Should go with their SB rod.
  10. Seaguar is on sale on TW if you haven't noticed. Want to grab some FC for my new flipping reel I'll be grabbing soon. I was gonna check out the new-ish flipping FC, but I really do not need 20# FC in Central Illinois, plus I've heard it has memory issues. Any one have thoughts on the Flippin FC or some of the newer Seaguar stuff?
  11. I've got a Savvy 703c and it's a bit lighter than I'd like for a "medium heavy."
  12. I've got a Lew's SuperDuty in 8:1. Beefy gearing, faster ratio, Lew's reel, good to go.
  13. Ohhhhhhh of course. Idk the deal with those ricos, don't fish em enough to warrant my cash.
  14. oh man that's a bad idea. If I don't remember spending it, it doesn't count right.
  15. I'd say the 6:1 like the rest. I like a 6:1 for squarebills and lipless cranks.
  16. I just got my 7'9"H and it's a good bit heavy. Dobyn's really does rate their rods a tad lower. This rod is heavier than my mag-heavy DX745.
  17. Grab two of the Dobyn's Furys. The 765flip and the 705cb will suit your needs. But you should have pounced on the Fenwick deal, they had good flipping sticks and a Med/mod rod.
  18. Man, this is probably the first time y'all will see me recommend something else over Dobyn's. I don't have any experience more than holding their Fury spinning rods, but I don't like em. I like Fenwick spinning rods, the spine is thinner and it just feels lighter and more sensitive. Which rods are you picking between (more specifically).
  19. Hm. I just bought an Aetos. I'll let you know if I have a similar problem, I have a Lew's BB1 going on it.
  20. Nice. I just bought the 7'9", figured I'd buy it at that price. Grabbed a Spro McStick for like $4 too.
  21. Aetos is $100 off at Gander, I'm going to pick up a 7'+ Heavy for a dedicated frog rod.
  22. I've pretty much been pushing the gift card and our 90 return policy.
  23. Big cranking rod MH or H mod fast (D806) Moving baits M or MH fast (SS703) Squarebills and jerkbaits M mod fast (D684cb) jig rod MH or H ex fast (DX745)
  24. Man, y'all good for laughs and that's about it haha. The people who come in have said fishermen are hard to buy gifts for, like I don't already know that myself.
