  1. That new Fury 705cb is what you need. You can also get a cranking Lew's LFS, it's got a deeper spool and a longer handle for cranking.
  2. Post up how you feel about the new LiteG. I'm looking for a new reel and I'm torn between this and two other Lew's. Or maybe don't, I probably don't need more help than the bait monkey provides.
  3. I was about to post about this. I've only seen the post of facebook, which I saw awhile ago, seen anything else out there?
  4. So we've got a few of those SK 8.0s at work, I'm just curious what rod you would throw that on. I can't imagine throwing it on an 806cb (the rod I would use for such a big crankbait).
  5. One year later, I've come to want a higher speed reel. I've turned my old school tournament pro into my new jerkbait reel.
  6. I've never heard the phrase "answering from the horses mouth." haha But it agree, it's pretty cool talking to Rich or Gary. What has really stuck to them is how they are customer oriented. I remember I wanted to get a Champion spinnerbait rod, and they weren't afraid to talk me down to a cheaper rod. Which looking back, was a definitely the better idea,
  7. To jump on the Dobyn's train: What I am about to tell you comes from Rich Dobyn's mouth. Their flipping action is softer than their extra fast, but faster than their fast (which it seems like most think is faster to begin with). Furthermore, they softened up the fury series compared to the savvys/sierras to make them more versatile. So my question is which is softer, the Sierra FLIP or the Fury FLIP? But this is purely just being picky and knowing the deepest of truths. If you want a shorter rod, get a 735 not a 765/6FLIP. If you don't want to shell out more than $120, get the Fury.
  8. I have a BB1 as my frog reel. I wouldn't use it, but I've always used a Super Duty as my frog reel until recently. But did they change the color of the ProG reel? Mine is gray, the ones at work are gray, the ones on TW are black... I'm probably going to buy a Lite G soon, need a jerkbait/squarebill reel.
  9. I'm pretty sure that was my first time fishing it, but I could have fished it before.
  10. I've been throwing a small weightless Keitech. Depending on the weather, I'll burn it high in the water column. What's really nice is the occasional rod twitch that makes it looks like a bait fish breaking the surface.
  11. I'm just gonna tell them about it when we do the next one. I've already changed the hooks on it and whatnot. It was definitely a surprise, didn't even notice until I caught this big guy.
  12. Directly, about a year ago from a team order.
  13. I totally forgot to upload a picture, but here it is
  14. I've got a Savvy 703 and it does fish more like a medium as rippin-lips said. I know they tend to be fast in the Extreme series too, so if a little more of an investment isn't an issue, consider that.
  15. I've got 10# Invizx right now. I don't feel safe with anything less on casting gear to be honest.
  16. My buddy uses the 765 glass for spinnerbaits and ratl traps. I trust his word pretty well.
  17. The F&S where I work at SC LTBs for $175. It's the 6'10 ML/F one (Finesse is what it says).
  18. Because I'm sure I have a different opinion than most! MH jig rod MH/MF crank rod MH/F spinnerbait rod. But this totally depends on if I have a tendency to crank deep, or I'm fishing pressured areas, etc etc.
  19. So I got a McStick in the mail, from Spro, and it has some funky treble hooks. the front two look like they were partially snipped off, and the last one is bent. I'll try to post a picture later, but has this happened to you with any other baits?
  20. Anyone know the effect on the Batwingz trailers?
  21. You can always drive to your central Illinois F&S and pick up a Shimano Sahara for $30. lol
  22. The president is the gold standard for entry level spinning reels. If you want to spend more, I'd looks for a really good deal on something else. But otherwise, the president is the way to go.
  23. So I always recommend P-line Fluoroclear to my customers that are looking to try FC for the first time. We just got some P-Line Fluorocarbon in stock recently and I was wondering what you guys think of it.
  24. My Lew's SuperDuty has 35IPT and it's $180
