I use JJs. As others have mentioned it dyes EVERYTHING. That being said, I usually do my dying at home before I leave, placing them in a plastic bag. If I do take it with me I put it in the cooler in a plastic bag, and use a Q-tip to do my application. I have had success with it as a scent and a dye.
  6. I don't know how strong a team Ohio State was, but Clemson embarrassed them. I've always been a Bama guy,but that Clemson D-fence looks gooooooood.
  7. The best way to ease some of the pain is to try and find some used rods. There's a flea mkt section here on this sight. Go to where you usually buy your rods and pick one out you like than try to find one used. Most people selling will text back and forth with you about the equip they have, regarding the condition and it's function. Gd luck.
  8. Tommy Boy???? lol "Tommy boy" has skill, luck has little to do with it.
  9. Anytime is good for me. So, the 21st @1:30 at the BPS fireplace. If anyone from the Dracut area is going you're more than welcome to ride with me.
  10. The 21st is fine, like Hamma I'm flexible. BPS I could care less about.
  11. The Jan 28th date works for me.
  12. Hey Tom, Looking forward to meeting everyone. As far as a day, would a wkend day say a Sat or Sun afternoon be best? I know most folks work, some have young kids and with homework and such. Need others to chime in please. As Hamma stated, doesn't much matter to me which day as I'm retired so any day or time works for me. If some of the folks in my area want to share a ride give me a shout, I'm in the greater Lowell area.
  13. It always amazes me how people are willing to risk there lives for a fish. The weather has not been cold enough for ice fishing. The snow helps insulate the already formed ice. Hit one place where there's a spring and the outcome could be lethal. Discretion is the better part of valor. Be safe don't risk it.
  14. I feel for you sir. I too have a son who is an addict. Started with an addiction to opioids after an accident he had in which he broke his wrist, he was 17yrs old then. My ex and I always thought he was doing pot, and although we didn't like fact of him doing weed we just dealt with it. Took many yrs for us to realize the problem was much worse. At 31 yrs old and after a break up with a long time girlfriend and upon moving in with his mom did the severity of the problem come to full light. While my ex wife was putting some of his clothes away she discovered needles and small packets. That was 2 yrs ago. When we confronted him with the evidence, he had no choice but to admit to it and after a few days he agreed to check into a detox. Checked himself out after a few days, came back home and appeared to be OK, attending meetings, accompanied with myself and or his mom. We were fooled again. We again discovered needles in his room, and couldn't get up and go to work. With this getting progressively worse we went to the courts and had him sectioned as a danger to himself. They put him away for a month. Over the course of the last yr he has met another girl that he loves, they have moved into an apartment together. She too had an addiction problem, hers was alcohol. On the surface they appear to be very happy together. I know for a FACT my son has had a couple of stumbles along the way, but he has managed to pick himself up and dust himself off and get back on track. This girl, his work, along with a loving family and good friends are his salvation, but when I know he is dabbeling in something I never sugar coat it, and make it known that I know. He is now 33 yrs old, I'm in frequent contact with him and I know at times it annoys him, but I tell him I love him, and I'm his Dad and always will be, and it is my job as a parent. He has thanked his mom and I a number of times for sectioning him, and acknowledges that everyday is a struggle. All we can do as parents is hold them near, love them, laugh and cry together, and let them know you're there anytime day or night. I pray for you and your son and wish you all the very best.
  15. Hey Hamma, I use spinning gear with 8lb Tuf-line super cast. 6ft fluro in 8/10lb,and I'm good to go. The tuf-line has the diam. of 2lb mono. throw it on a 6'6 med Falcon Bucco, and the next one that breaks me off will be the first one. When I set the drag I keep it light and use my finger to stop the spool and then it's off to the races. I use the same set up on the blade baits as well. I find the 8lb Tuf-line has a stronger than 8lb breaking point with a super thin diam. It has served me well, and is my go to super line.
  16. There's a fly tying shop in Pepperell, Ma. or buy on the net.
  17. I think Hamma and I have talked about going back to tying our own. I've seen some of his stuff and like it a lot. He showed me some crayfish immitations and they looked pretty nice. Another hair jig I like is the Pacatacarocco Fuzzball great colors and gd hooks.could try putting one of those on a blade
  18. Just took a look at TW and the Picasso Fx and hair jig. I know tungsten is pricey but I can't see paying that for a hair jig. Insane IMHO. It's nothing to go tru 1/2 dozen hair jigs in the rocks and gravel, at $14 a pop I'd lose my mind. I have tried the bladed jigs and as U stated gd in stained water, don't think I've had a sniff in clear water, but you know how it is with a new bait and the confidence thing.
  19. You could probably do the same with a scrounger head
  20. Hair jigs are killer in cold water, blk/yellow, blk/red, blk/gry feather. I do down size the trailer or with no trailer at all If perch are present which they usually are this time of yr red/yel works well. I like 1/16 and 1/8 oz I'll go as small as the wind will let me fish. drag em slow with pauses
  21. God bless all of our veterans. Thank you all for the sacrifices you make and have made. Hand salute from a very grateful nation.
  22. that thing is on steroids
