Me senior year I did not play baseball because I found the loves of my life,golf beer and women in that order. I never regretted not playing. The difference is that I didn't start the season. Follow your heart. I would actually talk to your teammates and coach. They are the ones that are going to be affected by your decision. For those that say you have your whole life to fish don't listen to them. You never know what day is going to be your last. Live life to the fullest everyday. Treat people right and always go to bed with a clear conscience. If you can sleep well with your decision then do what makes you happy.

If I had nothing to do back in the day I would just grab some beer from the fridge and see how long I could keep them on the phone so they were not bugging other people. I always made them hang up on. Hell I would just start talking about my problems at school with the wife. Some were actually cool with and they hated their job so we would just shoot the **** for hours.

Same as a marriage. Depends on how well it is lubed. How often it is used and Who is using it. And whether you try to trade it up for a newer sleeker model. However if maintained properly. If you give it the right amount of attention, doubt push it too the max too often it will be there when you die. But who wants that traded in my last model last year. Next year when I get everything paid off. I might be able to buy a boat again.

My brother and I fly fish a ton. My dad never did. We taught him how to do it and his first time out he caught a 20 inch gold trout. It was his one and only trout. Little did we know that cancer would take him from us only six weeks later. Luckily my brother was smart enough to snap a picture of it. That picture hangs at both our homes and at the cabin we still fish at. I tear up and smile every time I see it. I have thousands of memories fishing but none will top that. Even though he never fished he always drove us boys anywhere we wanted to fish. He gave us a gift that we will pass on to our children. it is a shame that we never got the time to truly thank him for one of the greatest gifts of all time.

About 25 years ago I had a situation. I was fishing this creek when I was about 8 years old. I was catching bluegill after bluegill. I go to bait up and the next thing I know this big ole bully is in my spot. So I ever so calmly wind up my zebco rod and with a mighty swing that would have made Ruth proud hit him in the back. The next thing I know we are both wet cover ed in welts and bleeding from all over. To this day that bully is still my best friend and fishing partner. When I got home my father was not pleased to say the least. For he had to explain to my mother why my older brother and I looked like we were in a bar room brawl. To this day I say I was in the right and he swears he was.

I actually did this for my cousin. He had not been into bass fishing in ten years and wanted to get back into it. He asked me to make a list of baits and rods reels that I like. Well about a week later his wife calls and she decides to call me every name in the book. Seems my cousin decided to buy everything that I wrote down in triplicate. Turns out his bill was around 5k at cabelas. A guy that had not caught a bass in ten years was now loaded with lucky crafts and every other high dollar lure imaginable. Well he went fishing one weekend. Decided he liked fly fishing better. Now his ten year old son has the nicest arcenal to fish his half acre farm pond.
