  1. I'll have to measure it again. Maybe I was trying to put the tubing on the 7" senko worm instead of the 6" senko.
  2. Looks promising. If it makes it to market, I'll try it. But not in that pink color though
  3. This thread reminded me of a Youtube video that I saw about the attention that men get when driving a Ferrari.....
  4. I have used them standing up on my chatterbait. I think it looks more natural.
  5. I like the Terminator Dual Bladed Buzzbait. If the Caviton had the 2 blade option, I'd try it.
  6. The 3/8" tubing is too small for the 6" senkos. I had trouble pulling them through without tearing it. You'll need to go up to 1/2". I have been using the tubing for my wacky presentation for the last half of the summer and I am very impressed. I have not had a torn senko while fishing yet. However, I have lost a couple of worms due to fish pulling on the end of the tail. But overall, I am still saving a lot of money on senkos due to the tubing!!
  7. If you are going to be there 7-10 days. You should just get the yearly license. When I went over the summer, I think there were only 3 options: 3 day, 7 day and yearly. You should go with some heavier line just in case you hook up with a fat one. I was using 50lb braid on Okeechobee when I caught my 7.5 bass. Also, I heard Jan-Mar is the best time for big bass in FL. I booked a trip to go back late Jan.
  8. Here is a video to brighten up your Friday
  9. Online shows 2.88.
  10. That bass pull your kayak into the dock. That's a hard fighting bass. Nice catch.
  11. I use the o'shaughnessy's hook #2 from Eagle Claw. I think that they are pretty much identical to the siwash hook. I have changed them out on some of my crankbaits and inline spinnerbaits.
  12. Awesome fish. Over 7lb in MD....Wow!!
  13. My local DSG did not have the same sale. But they did match the sale price for BPS.
  14. Interesting....I have never seen a snowboard rack used for fishing rods. But I suppose that it can be done. If I need to transport my rods long distance, I have 2 Berkley rod holders strapped to my roof rack. The reels are placed toward the front of the car.
  15. I feel your pain bro. I went out early this past Monday to do some fishing before work. I came to a nice spot at the lake with a half submerged log, and it looked like a promising spot. So I threw a double bladed buzzbait and ran it right by the log. As I expected, my buzzbait gets sucked under and the fish started to pull my drag hard. The first run lasted about 3 seconds and then his second run came almost immediately afterwards. After the 2 runs, I thought that I had the big fish under control. And wouldn't you know it, as I was pulling it in, it made the dreaded leap through the air, shook it's head a couple of times and threw my buzzbait. I stood there in disbelief for a few mins. I couldn't believe that I just lost that fish. I tried getting that fish back for the remainder of my outing, but it was gone. I was devastated. I could not get my mind off that lost fish....imagine how much work I got done that day I was determined to land that fish no matter what it took (well almost). I went back Tuesday morning....nothing. And this morning I went back out to the same spot to try my luck. I ran that buzzbait next to the log just as before and I felt a tug and my buzzbait went under water again. But the fish must have somehow miss the bait because the bait came flying back when I did a hookset...I didn't feel any pressure at all. I tried to make myself feel better by saying that it was probably a smaller fish since it didn't smash the lure. I tried the buzzbait a few more times in the same spot and came up empty. Again I was devastated. I went off to a different part of the lake to test out my luck, but nothing there either. So on the way back to my car, I decided to try my "unlucky" spot one more time. This time, I threw a pearl Senko and twitched it past the log not expecting much from my last cast of the day. Next thing I know, I feel a strong tug on my line. I pull back my rod slightly (didn't set the hook because I was using a circle hook) and the fish made 3 nice runs before I was able to pull it to shore. The whole time, I was holding my breath and praying that I would not lose it again. The fish ended up weighing 5.26lbs. Not a giant, but pretty decent in my neck of the woods. So the moral of the story is keep fishing for it. Maybe try a new lure. You might just pull that trophy fish in again.
  16. It's possible for rust to develop over night. But a few hours of dampness shouldn't be an issue.
  17. If you are going toward the Ugly Stik, check out the Ugly Stik Lite. They are lighter and stiffer than the regular ones and just as tough. You can get them at Walmart for less than $40.
  18. I don't know if a buzzbait falls into the category of wake bait, but it gets my vote if it does.
  19. My main four this summer has been the buzzbait, swim jig, inline spinner, and senko style worm. - I've caught bass pretty consistently on the buzzbait (some fatties) in the morning and early evenings - my PBs came on swim jigs, they typically work for me mid day - I caught my first snakehead on an inline spinner, I've caught numerous bass throughout the day on them as well - The senko style seems to work for me when all the other lures aren't getting me bites
  20. Awesome fish. She is beautiful! Now go out and break your PB record.
  21. I didn't know groupers will eat sharks. I guess whatever will fit in the mouth.
