I have trigger finger in three of my fingers and one of my thumbs. Do they lock once you get them bent and are hard to get back extended? If so you may have trigger finger setting in. My thumb is pretty painful from time to time. As others said it may just be tendinitis if it only hurts after fishing. Kind of like tennis elbow for the fingers.

Oh yeah, and the rental guy said that rivers tear up kayaks and that they have to buy really tough kayaks is because he doesn't want you to use your kayak on the river and he'd prefer you to rent one from him.

Some of the new seating systems kayaks have now are pretty nice. Jackson, Old Town, Feelfree all have lawnchair like seats to sit in.

I've dragged my kayak across rocky shoals and sand bars many many times and it sure it has scratches but it shows that it's been used well. They do make polyethylene repair kits if you do get too big of a scratch or gouge. Your kayak hull does have a foam inner core so I don't know how that affects the durability of the hull but it shouldn't.

I had maybe 10-12 tunnels a few years ago in my yard and ended up killing 13 of the SOBs with scissor traps.

Makes sense I guess.

What I want to know is why the OP is hauling around 5 batteries in his boat with him?

I usually wear sunglasses just for the safety aspect. They protect your eyes from lures that get spit by bass or come free from snags. There's some horror stories about top water baits with trebles or jigs that have come back and taken fishermen's eyes out. Like said above the Strike King sunglasses are pretty good for the price. First time backing down a ramp after I bought my boat last year I picked a doozy. It was about a 200' ramp with a steep 30 degree incline. It was a dual ramp but there was a concrete separator between the two lanes that made it that much more difficult. It took me about 5 tries to get the boat back down into the water. It just so happened to be Big Bass Bash that weekend and there was a lot of boats trying to put in. I just told everyone that looked at me that this was my first time and they were all pretty kosher with it and didn't mind. Then it took me way more tries to get the boat out of the water because it was harder to see the trailer in the mirrors without the boat on it. One guy even told me he would show me what I was doing wrong but he said just keep trying and that's the only way I'll get it down. Another guy even told me I had the trailer in too deep when I was having trouble getting the boat to line up on the trailer. I'm still no pro at backing it in but it's much easier now. I only use my side mirrors now after learning my rearview camera is pretty much useless to use since you can't see anything except the front of the boat and you cant tell which way the trailer is starting to turn. I couldn't learn the hand on the bottom of the wheel thing either. I just have to remember that which ever mirror the boat is showing in is the way I need to turn the wheel and it will straighten out. I think a good tip is to get the trailer as straight as you can behind your truck before you start backing it up. The rig you have also makes a huge difference. My truck is an Crew Cab F150 with a short bed and I have a single axle trailer with a 175TXW Tracker on it. It sometimes is really touchy when backing the boat up and the slightest movements of the wheel translates into the boat going way past where you want it to go. A couple weeks ago I had to back my uncles boat into a lake for a tournament we did. He has a Chevy 3500HD dually (huge truck) and a dual axle trailer with a z521 Ranger on it. I was pretty nervous as this rig is way bigger than mine. But it was way way easier to back up than mine. His does have huge towing mirrors on it and I think that helped a lot as I could see the boat start to turn earlier and I could correct quicker. I think the dual axles as well as the overall length of the rig made it easier too. I can even back up my buddies 19' boat with my truck a little easier than mine. I guess size does matter

A lot of people have had issues with the split rings on the 90s breaking. I've swapped mine out since breaking one on my first WP with a small 10" fish.

I made my own rod leashes for just a couple bucks a piece. I used the same materials that are on this website other than I didn't use the S-biner. I catch a ton on pearl silver flake both wacky and texas rigged

I really haven't had issues using swimbait hooks with screwlocks on them. If it does start running upside down and I notice it I'll stop my retrieve for a half second and it'll flip itself back over. I've been using 3/16oz VMC hooks.

From what I've seen there isn't a braid that sinks. Most if not all float and if you are using it for topwater you shouldn't need a leader of any kind. Most topwater is a reaction strike and they aren't looking at the line, esp since the line is typically above the water except where it attaches to the lure. I don't use a leader at all when fishing braid and top water and haven't seen any reduction in bites.

Bass Pro sells a power plug that will plug into your old Motorguide outlet. It comes with the necessary shrink tubing crimps to crimp onto the Minn Kota power wires. There should only be two cables on the Minn Kota you need to hook up, a red (+) and a black (-) wire. BPS sells a really nice rubberized net that is telescoping. They have two sizes, one that is $30 and one that $35 with the size of the hoop being the difference.
