  1. I recall Hank Parker saying to bend your cylindrical weight slightly into a curve and it helps reduce snags in big rock chunk like you describe. I have never tried it myself but might be worth a try.
  2. Awesome man! Congrats on a great day!
  3. I think you solved your problem. Don't be Hercules. A little finesse will do you just fine.
  4. They get resized for MMS (text messaging). Technology is a wonderful thing. My phone has an 8mp camera and takes nice pictures but doesn't replace a real cameras quality.
  5. I can't imagine it taste good at all, so wouldn't bother. I'll stick to Johnny Walker Black and enjoy my drink.
  6. Especially Fireline which isn't a very good braid. I didn't want to really bring it up because I don't want this to turn into a brand bashing contest, but to Kyle the original poster....get a different braid. Fireline braids are a thing of the past and they don't compete in any margin with modern day braids. My friend that I mentioned uses too light action of a rod, too thin of diameter braid, and too heavy of baits (usually a spinnerbait). And every now and then I hear "SNAP" and his lure is in orbit only to plummet to the depths. So make sure your lure, rod, line are all appropriate for the application. Cast on the side of your body and not over your head or shoulder if that is what you're doing.
  7. Mind sharing where? Was it at Wal-Mart too?
  8. You're casting too hard. Wind knot is forming and "POP" there it goes. Happens to a friend of mine that refuses to listen and I laugh every time now.
  9. x2. I have the Atlantic series with Amber lenses. They're awesome for the money.
  10. Just starting to really dabble into drop shotting. I'm using a 6'10 ML/XF rod with 10lb 832. So far working great except I haven't caught anything really big yet. Mostly dinks.
  11. These 2 bullets are more than likely the issue. You don't need to swing for the fences when casting on a spinning rod. If its really windy, low trajectory casts from the side work much better.
  12. Never in the boat for me. Bank fishing on the rare occasion that I do, I have headphones in for my phone so sometimes I'll have Pandora going.
  13. Gulp grubs work great. No need for live bait, they catch just as many. They come in a little jar and there has to be 500+ in a jar.
  14. Doesn't get rid of line twists. It helps prevent them from the bail arm dragging loose line initially vs a closed bail turning a taught line instantly.
  15. Just a little more practice. You'll figure it out. I throw flukes on bc and spinning but I prefer them on a baitcaster because I can control the action better when fishing it more erratic. I like it on a spinning rod if I'm deadsticking. Both have their time and place and can be achieved using a single setup. I don't have the same line twist you describe on braid or mono. I might suggest tryin SK caffeine shad. They're heavier than flukes and have a great slow fall as well as great side to side action. I'm really loving these the more I throw them. Colors are lacking compared to zoom but they have the basics.
  16. Wow that sucks. That would drive me nuts.
  17. My place is about an hour north of Madison. Had water temps in the 60's for wisconsin opener and crushed them. I went for memorial day and already had a great topwater bite. Not sure how much further north you were speaking but like stated, Ice out was just a couple weeks ago WAY up there.

Legally or not, the bad guys will always have guns. Just like drugs, there will always be a black market for bad things in this world. Let the honest, law abiding citizens at least have a chance to protect themselves when you can't rely on a cop of every street corner. Most of the murders in Chicago are gang related shootings. Those gang bangers won't bother signing up for CCW I promise you that. But, it may give them a second thought about jacking a mans briefcase or lady's handbag or robbing a convenience store etc..... or perhaps not. Other places have proven its helpful to have that lingering thought of "are they carrying?".
  19. My boys just turned 1 on May 21st, just on the verge of walking now. So I got a little bit of time but it will come fast. The first year flew by. As hard of work as it is, it's worth every second of it. Do us a favor and put a Shimano in your boys hands instead of that Revolting thing you throw. j/k. I hope that reel trade we made is serving you well. That Citica you gave me is a great reel. I think you said JFrancho serviced it, if so he did a fine job.
  20. Nice man. can't wait for my little ones to be able to go out there with me. They've got another year or two.
  21. Yeah I agree, I'd say it was scratching the 40" mark.
