Using Bass Techniques To Target Other Species
I've been dropshotting in the winter here during tournaments I've hooked 3 trout that break 20", you think you have won the tournament while fighting the fish only to find out its a rainbow. I guess rainbows like the jackall clone fry too.

Looking For A Sponsor
Once a month for tournaments. If you just want discounts on stuff, our club has a few sponsors, PM me and I'll give you a list. We also do community service clean ups at lakes and sycamore island, where you get to fish then clean up a bit. The community service looks good on a college resume as well.

Looking For A Sponsor
Also it's about how you can promote their product not about getting free or discounted stuff. Go for a company you believe in and use their product frequently not just anyone that will sponsor you. Remember a sponsorship does not make an angler better at fishing in any way. If you are in the Roosevelt high bass club, ask my friend and I how we got sponsored by companies, there's a little more than just writing them a resume, you have to prove you're worthy of being on their team and what you can do for them.

Lowest Cost Combo You Use?
Least expensive is a dobyns savvy 735 with a lews bb1 reel and fx2 line. I don't exactly have cheap combos since I fish only dobyns rods

$1K
I don't think I have, I've bought a shimano core 51 with a dobyns champ extreme spooled with tatsu but I don't think that breaks a grand.i usually spend anywhere from 400-600 on average for set ups. Although I'm considering a megabass destroyer x7 with a shimano metanium xg for a new set up. I'm only 16, this is gonna be a life long addiction.

A Central Valley Hello!
Sorry if I'm being rude but I strongly disagree that the fresno area lakes are terrible. They're fine lakes for tournaments and can produce large fish along with numbers if you know how to fish them and understand the lake and knowing what the bass in there prefer to eat. Like pineflat has spots and you're more likely to catch them jerkbaiting than cranking and dropshotting over a carolina rig

A Central Valley Hello!
First off eastman is 22". Second pineflat is one amazing lake if you know how to fish it. You have a chance at 4+ lb spotted bass up to 10lbs in there so learn to fish the lake. Hensley isn't bad either considering I had a 18lb limit in there this year. The lakes aren't as good as the motherlode or delta but by no means are they terrible at all

Champion Vs. Champion Extreme
The 703 would work great for Texas rigs since it is more sensitive and more of a bottom contact rod. The champion line to me is a reaction bait rod compared to the champ extreme which I find excels in bottom contact fishing. Also give a 743 a look at

25 Lb Limit On The Ca Delta + A 10 Lber
Went out to the delta and had a fantastic bite. Stuck this 10 and 8 lber and had a few other 2-3lbers. That 10 lb bass is also my new PB for the delta

Choosing A New Rod - Help
Try a dobyns champion extreme dx744. I think it will suit your needs well.

One Brand
Dobyns rods without a doubt!!!!! I chose them because I feel that they make a quality rod that's very well balanced and sensitive. I haven't ever had a breaking problem with them unlike other companies for me and their warranty is fantastic.

Just Ordered My Chronarch 50E!
I don't have the chronarch 50e but I do have a core 51e that I use to flip and pitch jigs
-
Dobyns Savvy Micro 735C
I have the 735 for my frog techniques and don't feel a need for extreme sensitivity while throwing topwater. If you can afford it, try the champion 735c, that way you will get the best of both world to frog and flip/pitch.

Rod For A Sol?
I usually fish all the lakes aroumd here but if I'm on foot I go to sycamore island a lot. Last week I pulled a 4lb spotted bass out of there and my buddy got a 6lb largemouth. Another friend went to hensley the other night and caught 7 bass between 3-9 lbs

Rod For A Sol?
The DX is a fantastic rod. I'm actually planning on a megabass destroyer x7 or an orochi x4. One heck of a combo with that nrx and aldebaran haha. Oh and what lakes do you fish around here?
