  1. I will not use a red firetail soft plastic . Sunfish are constantly pecking at it .
  2. I use both those colors quite a bit . Just started using Bama Bug this past summer and went through several bags quickly . Darker purples and their variants like Bama Bug , tequilla sunrise , june bug , electric blue ... have worked for me in many types of water . From deep clear Ozark reservoirs to shallow muddy ox-bows lakes .
  3. I'll have to go with a 3/8 ounce head or wont be able to pitch it with my regular pitching rod . I could drop to 12 lb test and get away with a 1/4 ounce head but I'm usually pitching into fairly heavy cover and like to use 17 lb trilene xl .
  4. There is a creek arm with a lot of inlets that I fish a lot, often being the first stop I make . It gives me an idea how the fish are positioned at the time . They may be on the outside on the coves , in the back or in between . It usually gets me on the right track , that can then be expanded on through the rest of the lake ..
  5. I'm going to have to get some wide gap tube hooks for stupid tubing . I toyed with a regular tube head last year and the couple of fish I stuck came unbuttoned .
  6. Fishing history gives you a good starting point . Bodies of water change over time . Places that use to be so-so might become a favorite destination . That happenned to me this year .
  7. I have some but havent used one in a long time . I use to catch bass with them in the summer time on channel ledges and points .
  8. I make my own and have come to prefer a paddletail over a skirt . The paddletail adds a little extra weight . With a skirt I use a 1/2 ounce lure but with a paddletail a 3/8th ounce . It matches my 7' mh buzzbait rod better so it cast more precisely .
  9. Mark Tawin once said "Too much mustard ruins the deviled eggs . How much is too much depends on the devourer ." He didnt really say that I fabricated it .
  10. Everybody has their limit where they would think "That is too dang many anglers " , some people havent reached it some have. I avoid the crowds as much as I can . Quit fishing weekends decades ago .
  11. I might take that approach too if I was after lunker brown bass where you fish . It hasnt worked for me with green bass .
  12. I dont have to worry about that . Camping out on a spot waiting for bass has never worked for me . I'll give it a Laurel and Hardy effort then move on .
  13. I want to try fly fishing for them . I once put a mullberry on an ultralight and flicked it out under an overhanging mullberry tree . That mullberry did not sink a foot before a carp sucked it in .
  14. Of all the SINCERE boats in all the SINCERE west , his boat is the SINCEREST !
  15. Leaving your life jacket at home sucks . What to do now . Launch without it . Go back home . Find a place to purchase a new one . I bought the new one option .
  16. True but 10 percent of a thousand is larger than 10 percent of a hundred .
  17. My biggest pet peeve is dropping the pliers on the floor of an aluminum boat .
  18. I've been in that boat a few times . I dont understand it . I'll change in a heartbeat . I would like to see bass anglers , pros alike , agree to definitions about structure and cover . They're interchangeable to a lot of anglers making it confusing to noobs .
  19. Last season I was in the rear of a cove catching bass and didnt go unnoticed by a bank fisherman . He said " I know you have more of those lures , let me have one ." So I gave him two spinnerbaits . Dont know if he did any good .
  20. I would like to see less fishing pressure also .
  21. I always have a Leatherman on my belt . There are sets of basic needle nose pliers , scissors , side cutters and hemostats on my tackle bag .
  22. I'm convinced it doesnt make that much difference . A person has to choose something so we choose colors that we have caught them on in the past .My best friend and I were avid Jelly worm users . I used mostly black grape and him blueberry . It didnt make a difference . If one of us was catching bass so was the other .
  23. I put on an old coat today , put my hand in the pocket and pulled out a ziplock bag with some black/blue Larew salt Craws in it . .
  24. I never walked that far to catch a fish .
