I still like the old Bomber Flat A except I dont do a lot of winter fishing . The chartreuse one is a boss out on big river dikes .

I think I have caught three bass in January .

If there is just a skim of ice you could punch through it .

I had a box full of knives too , that I pick up at Salvation Army , Goodwill... I sold most of them a few months back .

Ive been carrying a pocket knife since I was a kid . I feel lost without one . The swiss army knife I carry is the "Hiker" with a saw blade .I spend a lot of time outdoors and that saw gets used a lot .

I'm glad you are still fishing at 84 . You have to do what you have to do . I saw my dads last living brother yesterday . He is 96 . He was talking fishing with me and was sad because he cant get out anymore . So I have a plan for him that I hope to follow through on . If I can get him in my boat , its a 22 foot Lowe deck boat plenty of seating , he will be comfortable , I'll put him on some white bass . They are plentiful and easy to catch and I can usually locate schools of them in the summer .

I carry two at all times . A Swiss Army Knife which if I could only have one knife that would be it and a cheap sanrenmu that clips in the pocket and is one-handed opening . When fishing the one hand knife is a must have . Also a Leatherman on my belt so I carry three knives .

If a pro is hawking a product and I see it might be of use to me , better than what I already use , then theres a good chance I will purchase that product . I wont buy a product just because pro x pushes it .

Larew Salt Craw . Its simple , no action but it holds it own both as a Texas rig and jig trailer .

For me it was a 1/2 ounce Strike King Red Eye Shad Tungsten Two Tap , 5.3 lbs . The third time in the last four years it came off a Red Eye Shad .

Boats , but a lot of my bigger bass have been caught along road side culverts .

DOA makes some squeeze on sinkers that goes on hook shanks .

I dont deer hunt but will take a deer if somebody wants to give me one . Well I got one this year. today I went to the freezer to retrieve some tenderloin and it quit working . A half deer spoiled . I still have summer sausage and deer sticks coming . I'll have to squeeze them in the refrigerator freezer .

I dont think painting the heads makes a lot of difference . I used a lot with unpainted heads .Lately I've been painting my baits with fingernail polish from the Dollar Tree . They have a gold flake that I like the looks of . I like a 1/2 ounce lure best . It cast better and more accurately with the rod I use . My favorite blades are a little on the small size but they work well post spawn through fall . A 4.5 main leaf willow with a 2 Colorado .

I'm impressed with all you northeners catching bass . I've been busy these last two months and missed this late season opportunity . I'll be officially retired in a week so be ready to fish at any time .

I can attest they suck . I have two and dread the day they decide to move . Sounds like you have more to come . I feel for you .

I love fishing for carp . I had a camper on Mississippi river backwater that was protected by a levee . I use to feed them with floating fish pellets , so there were always carp hanging around . Kids would come over to feed the carp .

I found good spots on Table Rock and LOZ by watching a couple of pros fishing on youtube . When I got a good look at the gps I froze , enlarged the screen , then went to Google Earth and found the exact spot .

Most people are both .I may burn a spinnerbait by good piece of cover , then pick up a worm . Before the day is over I may be just doing one or the other .

Ive even used the back half of a plastic lizard with good results .
