  1. I have caught bass in 70 foot but I was fishing emergent standing timber so that doesnt count .
  2. I throw spinnerbaits under those conditions . I feel like they are one of the best lures . The key is to pick the weight that matches the sweet spot on your rod and make precise low trajectory cast . I use two colors bright and not bright . With blue bird skies and clear water I opt for not bright . I prefer a Willow/Colorado combo and put the lure in places where bass like to hang out, like any object a lake has to offer .
  3. Old school Lunker Lure with rubber skirt . Love em .
  4. Man, you are going to be broke before long .
  5. They all work but in my opinion , there is no lure funner to throw than a buzzbait . Frogs are fun but frustrating , I have less than 50 percent hook up ratio with them . I have a good ratio with buzzers .
  6. It entirely , 100 percent depends on the cover or structure I'm targeting . I dont have a go-to numbers lure , I have lots of go-to numbers lures depending on the situation at hand . Texas rigs , jigs , spinnerbaits , buzzbaits and crankbats have probably accounted for over 95 per cent of the bass I have caught .
  7. Nothing in the past couple of years . I think it was three years ago I started catching bass with Stanley Ribbetts and still are .
  8. I bought this from Tackle warehouse . Liked it so much I now have four . I use the hvy action for Texas rigs . https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-OKUMARDS.html?from=basres
  9. When it gets over 90 I fish at night or stay at home and read Bass resource .
  10. If there seems to be a lot of fish at 15 foot, try to locate a point and fish at that depth there. A Berkely Dredger 17.5 or 20.5 will dive to that depth . Bouncing a Red Eye Shad or Texas rigged worm on bottom can be productive . About any sinking lure would be a good choice .
  11. I fished for decades and never hooked myself , then three years in a row I did it . So I bought fish grippers . The last time i hooked myself there was a hook sticking out of a Plano and I grabbed it .
  12. A lake I fish the pressure has doubled . But most of those anglers are relatively inexperienced . For the most part they are noisier , their cast are noisier, they are not very accurate . I just try to make precise ,quiet, low trajectory cast . I'm not the greatest caster but I'll put it where I aim most of the time. I'm catching good numbers of 15 inch keepers, limiting out there every time this year but the big fish are not coming .
  13. How did he get them to run that deep ? I use them in about ten foot of water .
  14. Haha! I've done that on occasion . At least you are on the right forum .
  15. I use to fish deep a lot during the summer but those good deep spots are fished so hard that they just dont consistently produce like they use to . I find myself fishing shallow a lot more even in the hottest weather . I still give deep water a try just in case I time it right .
  16. The two squarebills I fish most are discontinued so there is no use in mentioning them any more .
  17. Lake Champlain picks are in . I selected Feider for the first time this year Feider Ito Hartman Canterbury Paquette
  18. Does he actually use them during competition ? I laughed at that goof ball when he went to the weigh-in sleeveless , did the Stone Cold Steve Austin thing then the interview . Hes a comedian . Congrats to Hank Cherry with back to back wins . Next year he will be gunning for the threepeat .
  19. I give them every opportunity to catch fish . If they are hard headed about it and dont take advantage of the opportunity or advice then let the crushing begin .
  20. If I find post spawners out in deep water I like to throw deep diving Cranks , Red Eye Shads ,Texas rigged worms . If I find bass in the brush Texas rigged plastic worms , spinnerbaits , buzzbaits . On standing timber ,poppers , square bills, texas rigs .In Chara algae toads , spinnerbaits , buzzbaits .On shallow points Long A minnows , buzzbaits , squarebills , spinnerbaits , jigs , texas rigs
  21. It depends on where I'm fishing and what cover and structure I'm targeting . I dont have June and July lures . I have grass , lures , rock lures , wood lures...
  22. I guess I did not understand the topic . I use crankbaits , spinnerbaits, buzzbaits as much as worms but they are not always tied on where as a worm or jig is .
  23. I'll always have either a texas rig or jig . I use them on the same rod . Dont carry separate rods for both .
  24. Not a modification but I texas rig Yum Dingers rotated 1/4 of the way , bypassing that slit . It just works better for me . I also snip off the nose of some plastics so that they line up better with a bullet weight or jig head .
