Using a drone to scout fishing spots?
I was fishing Table Rock three years ago when I heard this humming . Looked up and sure enough there was a drone hovering above me . If someone was trying to find a good fishing spot , he was spying on the wrong angler .

Bassmaster Lake Fork
Tacu Ito cracks me up . He said he doesnt like 8 lbers , they fight to hard , he likes little bass better , .

Locating fish besides shoreline (sandpit)
I never fished water like that but it sounds like a good scenario for a heavy carolina rig, to cover deep water quickly .

Lures you want to try, but just haven’t.
I just bought some senkos , got them for half price . I've only been out once this year and didnt even tie one on . It just wasnt a worm type day .

I'm sticking with Zaldain . If he does bad , he does bad for 60 percent so it doesnt hurt so much .

Anyone still throwing a single Colorado blade spinnerbait?
Rarely . I still do at night .

Grubs for T-Rigs?
I do occasionally . One of the few times I use an EWG hook . Kalins use to have one they called Witches Brew that I had success with .

Best advice to give newer guys
All lure categories have their place . Different bodies of water vary significantly . Figure out the nuisances of the water fished and select lures that will exploit them and be stealthy about it . Lure selections for a rocky dam will be different than from a weed choked cove or a moving stream . Think .

That one bait/rig that you don't use but everyone else does
First , I dont carry the right gear to cast one of those contraptions and secondly I would get to to close to snags and lose it .

Favorite "Blue Bird" Day Bass Lures ?
The waters I fish this time of year have only a few inches of visibility maybe just an inch or two . The bass are in cover , so whatever fishes the cover best .

KVD squarebills . I have used them and they dont even feel right . I havent caught anything on them , switch to other squarebills and catch fish.

Plastics, For The Most Part...
The Chara overran the lake I fish most . There was still a few crankbait fish being caught off-shore but for the most part the bass stayed shallow in the growth . The fishing was actually quite good . I started using a lot of toads . Texas rigs were useless , as the chara has no roots and I would just bring in a wad of it . The mats are declining now , since grass carp were introduced . I imagine it will all be gone before the year is over . Spinnerbaits have been deadly around and over it as it continues its decline . I didnt know it was invasive , I thought it was natural in lime rich environments .

Favorite "Blue Bird" Day Bass Lures ?
It makes no difference to me what the sky conditions are . I'm fishing shallow cover with the same lures .

The no-splash entry
I try to make quiet entries , I'm not as good as some of you guys . A lot better than the guys doing overhand Hail Mary lobs . I can get buzzbaits to touch down lightly and not sink at all . They are buzzing as soon as they hit the water . A lot of times bass destroy one within inches of touch down .

Summer flutter spoon
Thats something I have tried and never had any luck . I have used Luhr Jensen Krocodile spoons on points , thinking it would imitate a dying shad fluttering to the bottom .Not a single fish . I'm sure they will work at times , I just havent been able to get bass to hit one .

Barrel Swivels
I use them to avoid line twist on lures like Little George"s . I dont like to tie them on but dislike line twist even more . Carolina rigs too .

Snag area, what's down there?
Your guess is as good as mine .

Why is it so hard
As soon as I saw this I went to Amazon . No such deal now .

RATS...
It would scare girls real well .

Senko vs. Yum Dinger
LOL I actually did it and it translated to "thousand" . So I guess one will catch a thousand fish .

The Deal
Whenever I tried removing a skirt and putting on a piece of plastic the spinnerbait came in sideways .

Stuck in limbo...
I went out for the first time all year earlier this week . The low was right at freezing and the high was in the mid 50's . I dont know what the water temp was but guess around 50 . The water high and muddy . Crushed the bass with spinnerbaits in creeks and coves targeting flooded brush .

My weakness as a bass fisherman.
My biggest weakness are deep clear lakes and finesse fishing . Its just not my thing . I'm heading to Bull Shoals next month for a week of humbling fishing .

Spinnerbait vs Jig n Spinner
The fixed arm on a spinnerbait makes it extremely snag resistant . The waters are high and muddy in a lot of places right now , with a lot of flooded brush . The bass are shallow in that brush . Tossing a spinnerbait in it as deep as possible and bringing it out without snagging is a classic technique . I went fishing two days ago and caught 27 bass with about a dozen over 15 inches doing just that . Beetle Spins would have been a pain . I like Beetle Spins in situations where snags are not an issue .
