  1. All right , more info about that drainage pipe . Is it big enough for bass to occupy ? Is there current going through it? I have caught a lot of bass by letting the current push a top water through pipes and culverts , then retrieving it. Something like a Baby Torpedo or Bomber Long A Minnow will do the trick .
  2. "Arbogast" Mudbug Rapapla Fat Rap Rebel Deep Wee R Dalton Special Rebel Chugger Pico Pop Rogers Big Jim
  3. I use plastic craws , sometimes half a lizard , the tails of used hula grubs or whatever else I find lying on the bottom of the boat .
  4. If you want to see a pro that fishes differently , watch Taku Ito . That guy fishes his style and is very successful .
  5. I use to try every new lure and technique that the pros did, too . Not anymore . My talent is to evaluate the cover or structure I'm targeting and use the lures that I think will work there . Thats all there is to it . I dont over-think it and much more successful fishing like that .
  6. Are you referring to these ? I dont know the name . I just have two .
  7. Just because I'm not catching them doesnt mean they are not biting . I just keep on keeping on . Many a bad days I finish with a flurry .
  8. The crankbait I have had the most success with for whites is the small size Red Eye Shad . Any shad color works .
  9. I put in a team for drain the lake , its subject to change. Livesay Walters Combs Talley Atkins Cobb Loughran Whatley
  10. My Lake Fork team is Walters Lester Combs Atkins Zaldain
  11. Are you 100 percent positive that the fish you see swimming around are largemouth bass ?If so , try catching them at night .
  12. That Tacu Ito is one fishing son of a gun .
  13. For the first time this season none of my team is fishing on Sunday . Its not near as fun . But this , in my opinion , is the most interesting tourney of the year . Mosely is not making the run . Christie is . Livesay is swinging for the fences with a 125 mile run . Its going to be exciting no matter the size of the fish . Lots of strategy going on .
  14. In early spring I found the afternoons better but right now it seems no time is better than any other .
  15. Every spinnerbait I have seen a closeup of in this tourney had a gold Oklahoma main blade . I use those a lot in muddy water during the spring .
  16. As far as being in the 60's, I'm 63 and every day its convenient I walk up a set of 244 stairs that lead to the top of a hill to the "Lighthouse" its a thing a lot of locals do for exercise . I do it once . One man I know is well into his 70's , does it six times a day . Half the tourist in their 20's , these days , have to stop and rest or dont finish the climb . The reason I sit half the time "fishing from a boat " is not that I'm old a feeble , a severely arthritic foot and ankle is the culprit .
  17. They are a rock band setting up their equipment and cut the power . Mercer went to check it out and the last words I heard him say were "I told you guys" and that was it .
  18. I think I have three but Bag of Doughnuts done screwed up the weigh in . Mercer is mad .
  19. I like it and living on the Mississippi I have done plenty of backwater , ditch, culvert fishing .
  20. The old 6 inch Jelly Worm is my finesse worm . I tinkered with 4 inch worms but they just dont do it for me .
  21. I fish with my cousin and he has only one leg . He sits most of the time but sometimes he plops his stump on the seat and stands . I havent seen him fall in yet .
  22. I just wear a pair of shorts , tennis shoes and go . I'll wade waist high but have crossed the river chest high at times . I take one rod . Sometimes I'll wear a vest with small tackle boxes and sometimes I'll just throw a few extra lures in a pocket .
  23. The five largest fish is still the goal no matter where they are fishing at .
  24. I stand up more in a 14 foot jon boat than I do in my 22 foot Lowe . The jon boat is hand controlled and the Lowe foot controlled . A recessed foot pedal would be nice . I have a cable controlled and its sort of like standing on one foot . Like everybody else . I use to stand and fish in large waves ,
  25. They give the time they last checked in . So if they checked in and have nothing they shoulnt have any fish ..
