  1. THe six must have lures is not going to be the same in different waters .
  2. Fall is my favorite time to throw buzzbaits . The bite may last all day . Just put the trolling motor down and start fishing . I go up the creeks and strive to make good cast . Always cast with a purpose , even if its just casting at a seemingly insignificant spot at the shoreline . Make sidearm cast , dont let the bait sink . Set the hook when you feel the fish , not when a bass nails it , which is easier said than done . Its easy fishing and so much fun .
  3. This is what I use most of the time . Hand poured 1/2 ounce with a swim bait super glued on . I will add a trailer hook . I havent used this rage bait yet , before it was a Money minnow but I used them up . With a swim bait on , it cast further and the added drag allows it to be retrieved slower .
  4. That sounds good to me . At night the entire screen becomes pixelated .
  5. I tell you what , the thermocline has me a bit confused right now . The other morning at sun-up there were two distinctive lines on the depth finger . One was about 12 foot and the other 25 . That 12 foot line disappeared in the afternoon . I dont know what to think of that . Made no difference . Caught 43 in less than 8 foot with most coming less than two foot .
  6. Thats a little pond . There is no place for the bass to go . They are stuck in there . If thats where you been catching all those fish you have been taken pictures of , they are probably getting lure shy .Try changing lures to something they havent seen .
  7. I like a 1/2 ounce lure with either a skirt or a soft swim bait .Color , I do prefer a shad color .
  8. Buzzbaits are my favorite . I like the high hookuip percentage over what I get with a toad . Just havent been able to throw one much because of algae .
  9. The longer nights have already got the bass biting in the back of creeks where I fish .
  10. I did a lot of seining by myself . I rolled up a long seine so I could handle it . I got in the current and would hold one pole pretty still and move the other back and forth slightly upstream of it . then move up a step and repeat . It takes a little while to get the hang of it but its doable .
  11. One of the best places I found are deeper ripples . Are you targeting smallmouths or largemouths ? Small Mouths like to get in the deeper ripples but largemouths tend to stay out of the current .
  12. My spinnerbait rod is 6'8" medhvy baitcaster .
  13. Yesterday started out decently then the fishing slowed down considerably .Sun was bright ,zero wind . I doubled down on wood cover and caught my largest 6 fish limit of the year .
  14. . Used them yesterday . The first one worked ok , not as noisy as the Ribbet but I caught three bass on it . Second one didnt work at all , the legs kept crossing . I will go ahead and use the rest and just discard the bad ones . If most of them work I will buy more for just a dollar a pack but if half of them are junk , no more .
  15. Where can I find it ? I lost a blade or two when I first started . Now I get the end of the wire to touch by just using regular pliers . Round pliers to make a perfect loop , regular pliers to close it .
  16. True , but spinnerbaits dont last forever . If I get fifty fish on one I did good but the wire is going to break sometime . So I now have blanks and after 20 to 30 fish switch the blades and hardware to a new bait . I can buy a new bait that I like and keep reusing the blades for hundreds of fish . Recycle the lead and hooks buy new skirts and it becomes cheap .
  17. I got a kick out of adventures of Harry and Charlie . What was the boats name , Stump Jumper ?
  18. How big a pond is this ? Its not deep enough to have different layers .
  19. Fishing the lake I go to most often it would be a texas rigged worm 8 to 10 inches , 1/2 ounce spinnerbait and Stanley Ribbet . Other places different lures .
  20. Largemouth , but it does appear to have a deformed upper lip . I have caught them like that .
  21. They usually give away a lure set worth more than the cost of the magazine . I'm waiting for that offer or a BASS hat . I dont like the little books they give away . They are just articles in the magazines that I have already seen . Or a daily planner . I want new lure or a hat.
  22. Last year I bought some straight shank hooks because I heard so much about them . They were Owner Jungle Flipping hooks . First time ever using them . I was at Lake of the Ozarks one day after the Big Bass Bash that was won with a 6 lber .That 6 lber was worth 100, 000 dollars . So the next day I felt a little tap and set the hook like a boss . I nailed it , just like thousands of times previously ..I had this huge bass at the boat which appeared to be seven plus , it shook its head as I was trying to lip it and the hook came out .My jaw dropped . Upon examining my worm , the hook didnt come through . I took that hook off and havent used it since . I went back to using thinner wire offsets . I heard that too . Maybe that's the way to go . I dont even know how to tie a snell .
  23. There use to be a local tackle store where I bought a lot of stuff and a mold from . Then I was given some stuff and pick up skirts and swivels wherever I can find them cheap . A local farm store had these little strike king spinnerbaits on clearance for .25 . They had ball bearing swivels . I bought them all just for the swivels . Wal Mart had Strike King blades with ball bearing swivels .50 cents for a pack of three , I think , maybe five . I bought them all . I have a hundred pounds of lead that was given to me . Another good place to get lead is the earthen mounds at a gun range .
