With ball bearing swivels the blades will spin when dropping through the water. I think thats important.

I just have a Plano box with no dividerss. I put several spinnerbaits/buzzbaits in plastic covers and toss them in.

Todays hooks are a lot better than when I first started fishing jigs. I bought them by the dozen stapled to a strip of card board for 79 cents a piece. Didnt have any issues with them. Didnt know any better. I sharpened the hooks before use , touched them up as needed. Dont remember ever having a hook fail or straighten out. But I dont catch double digit bass either.

I like beetle spins for river smallies too. You can always assemble custom lures any way you like. I use DOA jig heads and shad bodies with a beetle Spin arm.

Dirty water black and black/chartreuse salt craw. Clear water balck with brown trailer or brown with black trailer.

Learn to cast decently. Not overhand casting, any fool can do that. Side csting , roll casting., low trajectory , accurate cast.

Its been a few years since I've done this. I have a bigger Pop R. Dont know what its called.I like to throw it mid day in the hot summer. I targeted the edge of main lake standing timber. Making as much commotion as I can. Short sharp rod snaps that spit water a distance. I've had 50 to 70 fish days doing this. I dont fish on those days anymore.

I like female voices and have quite the play list. My wife doesnt care for a lot of it.
