  1. On a computer push ctrl and = keys at the same time and it should zoom in . ctrl and - to zoom out ctrl and 0 to return to original view .
  2. Actually , I just thought it would be a good map for some of the less expeirenced fisherman to learn from and also maybe some of the better structure fishermen might see something I have overlooked . but you have to zoom it in to see it all .
  3. JP... This is the upper reaches of the lake . The dam is probably fifteen miles away . The lake was formed it the early 80's .I've been fishing it since it was flooded . There is a lot going on in this section . Channel swings are good places , the creek on the left where the channel swings and there is a road next to it , I've fished there a lot .
  4. This may be a bit confusing to some because I colored it in at 605 foot elevation which is close to normal pool .So if you see a number like 596 with an x next to it , that would be nine foot deep . The main channel will be thirty to forty foot deep .
  5. There is no vegetation . Lots of standing timber . Contour lines are at five foot intervals . This is a section of Mark Twain Lake . You will have to zoom in to get a good look . What places would you hit in the summer with a fifteen to twenty foot thermocline and stained water . On a computer push ctrl and the = key at the same time too zoom . You can also click on the photo and it will take you to photobucket . Push ctrl and the = key there too . ctrl and - will make the image smaller ,and ctrl and 0 will restore it to original size . I chose this section because of all the contour changes .
  6. Weightless Texas rigs but the bait has to be heavy enough to cast and the hook has to be strong enough to pull in a large bass and several lbs of weeds .
  7. In the picture above , those draws that lead from the flat to the channel are lined with standing timber . In the summer would you fish them shallow to deep or deep to shallow . I fish them shallow to deep .
  8. I have a corp map of Mark Twain lake . Its like 40 pages and shows everything , even out buildings and fences . I had to color it in with a high lighter . Heres an example .
  9. As far as it being faster and not having to retie . Its usually time for me to retie anyway when I switch baits ,
  10. Wow . You would think a ruler woud be pretty easy to get right
  11. You guys have some amazing screenshots . I'm new with a downscan unit and havent learned it well yet . Yesterday I located an old bridge that I use to drive across . Pretty primitive compared to the other shots here but it was neat seeing that old bridge again .
  12. I would fish the rock pile and the point and keep coming back , especially if fish are shown on it .
  13. Of the rods I own and I dont have a lot of expensive rods , the Shimano Compre is my favorite .
  14. I like to use shad patterns best in 10 foot and deeper but you never know .
  15. I've never been to this sub-forum before , so dont know if this is the kind of topic to post here or not . I inherited a new in box chinese SKS . Looking around on the internet , I can upgrade to a more modern looking stock at a pretty low price . Would there be an advantage to this . Looking cool means nothing to me . I plan on shooting it a lot this fall and maybe take it deer hunting . I dont plan on getting a larger magazine . So , other than cometics , would a new stock be an upgrade ?
  16. I have never used a drop shot rig . What would be wrong with this setup ? Two bobber stops to hold the hook in place . The hook would be free to spin .If the hook eyelet is to big a small plastic disc could be used between the stops and hook . I always have those on hand for trailer hooks . I just punch them out of butter lids with a hole punch . The weight would have to be tied on . A split ring or swivel could be tied to the end and a sliding worm weighton the line . The hook would just slide down the line when a fish is hooked . Edited : I just Googled this and apparently some people rig it like this .
  17. Instead of a Wacky rig Senko have you tried it weightless Texas rigged ?
  18. Might check the hook hangers and line tie to see if they are straight . They will throw a diving crankbait off , so they may a lipless to .
  19. You wouldnt think that hook would go all the way through . Must be some good hooks . What kind are they , I want some?
  20. The hook is not inserted in this photo and it looks like it is hooked sideways . Texas rig it through flat and the hook rides down .
  21. Yum Swurm , weightless with a big heavy hook for added casting weight and strong enough to bring in lbs of vegetation . I can even fish it in slippery , slimy moss . duckweed... Just take it easy and let it plop on top . I've caught a lot of big bass in the neighborhood lake when noone else could fish it . Sometimes it still catches the slimy stuff but most of the time I can get it through . The Swurm is flat and comes through that stuff well .
  22. I voted Bassmaster because I watched a little bit of the classic . Other than that , I havent watches a fishing show for a long time . I use to like Championship Fishing with Virgil Ward .
  23. I think using Manns Jelly worms is cheating .
