  1. Wait . you can guess the weight of the fish shown on a fishfinder ? I cant even tell what kind of fish they are .
  2. Because bass lures are just so cool . I can remember as a kid and never have bass fished before , looking at the bass lures at the stores . Oh how I wanted some of those . I told dad that I wanted some bass lures for Christmas . So that Christmas i recieved a Lazy Ike , Flatfish , Jitterbug , Johnson Silver Minnow , Burke Flex Plug and many others I cant remember . The only one still have is the Burke Flex plug .
  3. I dont even fantasize about a double digit bass around here . I have never seen one , nor a picture of one . I hear stories but they are just stories . Now Bluebasser said he saw one in a lake not to far from here , so its possible .
  4. Lunker Lure , yellow and black ,1/2 ounce.
  5. I throw med size lures almost exclusively . Stuff that my med baitcasting equipment handles well .Lure placement is important for both quantity and quality .
  6. Uncle Josh pork frog , Larew Salt Craw , Hales Craw Worm and Guido Bugs . They all will work , those are the ones I used the most .
  7. Aanother idea . To store spinnerbaits put them all in fire extinguisher tag covers . I can take a photo if anyone wants to see . I put two or three in a cover then lay then in a box with no dividers . It will hold a bunch with no tangles and easy to see . Theres a hole in the covers so they may be nifty in your design . Just put a ring through them .
  8. LOL , of all the things I have to be worried about a dirty fish isnt one of them .
  9. Cedar trees . I fish them often . The good old 6" Texas rig Jelly Worm is my #1 bait . I will peg the worm in place but leave the weight unpegged . Buzzbaits are another favorite .
  10. A quality mono. I use Trilene xl , xt and Big Game .
  11. The bass will still hit it Makes bumping the stump easier .
  12. I just make sure the wire and hook line up , if not bend it . It should run off some .On a good buzzbait bite I will have two tied on to run right and left .
  13. Plastic craws , buzz baits , stick worms , tubes , jigs . River Smallmouths crush buzzbaits .
  14. I see the yellow perch but is that a yellow bass in the mix ? Or just a white ?
  15. I made the switch to braid but went back to mono . I get more bites on mono , have no problem feeling the bites and dont want to tie a leader 'I see the benefits braid offers some anglers I just prefer mono . I like the blue fluorescent lines .
  16. I use to use Berkely Strike , Riverside Real claw . I thought they both helped the fish hold on longer . Now days I just use a spike-It marker . I like to add a little mottled look to my soft plastics and this adds a garlic scent as well. I .caught a lot of fish using it but dont know if it actually makes a difference .

I use whatever . I do prefer a little color change somewhere in the rig . Either two colored skirt or a different colored trailer . Like Turtle135 , black and brown combo has worked well .
  18. ^^ Get the fillet knives out . I actually enjoy filleting fish .When I was a boy I would peddle my 20" , single speed bike to a slough off the Mississippi river about 8 miles away . I would catch bullheads . On the return trip I would put them in a gunny sack and dip it in the water . I had three stops on the way home to re-dip the sack . They would still be alive when I dumped them on the grass for cleaning .
  19. Those look interesting . I wonder if the rubberband is used if it will scare the bass when released . It will pop them inside the mouth .
  20. Its the opposite for me . I accumulate the tiny stuff and it gets little playing time . The 3 inch Sassy Shad on a 1/8 jig head is my go to little lure .. I am going to Cabelas today and try to get the correct components for the Ned rig .I have been told that using half a Senko on a jig head in not a ned rig . Need to get some DOA short shank jig heads for those three inch shad lures too .
  21. When it comes to weight size , you just have to try different ones . Bill Dance says to use the lightest possible . Larry Nixon says to use heavier weights . They are both legendary worm fishermen . I side with Nixon . On a six inch worm , 3/16th to 5/16 ounce is what I usually use , even in skinny water . I think day in and day out the faster drop gets more bites , I get more cast in , cover more water and present my lure to more fish .
  22. I really like the chrome flash on top water baits like a Spook and Pop R . Or the silver flash in the Bomber Long A Minnow .
  23. Check with the bass clubs . Some will allow guest to fish . Youre 15 and already have a boat , thats a good start .
