  1. Your profile pic is in water like that .
  2. ...and I catch bass in water like that . A good lure is a black spinnerbait with copper blades . Even in muddy water I prefer a main willow over a Colorado most days . The bass will know its there . I think the copper works well because the flash is muted , so when the bass is close enough to see it , the black skirt is a better target .
  3. Things dont always work out . Show up tp your spots and there are already people there , locals and contestants , boat problems . Plus they are opens , anyone can fish them .That Clay Dyer guy doesnt have any arms and legs and he will zero at times . If you havent seen a video of him fishing , you need to . Its something else .
  4. In my boat 7 or 8 . Jon boat 5 or 6 . Canoe 2 , Bank fishing one .
  5. I forgot about that tip .
  6. yep , keep plenty of worm weights and hooks on hand . That reminds me , I need more worm weights .
  7. I fish stained to muddy water all the time . Bass are usually found close to cover and shallow . Whatever lure is chosen accurate under-hand cast and pitches are the most important thing . Get the lure right in there and make it sound like a fleeing baitfish not a walnut falling. So get the weight of the lure to match your gear right, to make the cast easier .
  8. I pour my own and the weight is the lead head . I dont know what the finished weights are . I like the extra weight on a half over a 3/8 but with the smaller blades of a 3/8. A 4.5 willow paired with a smaller Colorado . I wreck them with that combo
  9. I didnt know either .
  10. nope . I just keep on keepin on and hope to figure it out . Good thing bass are abundant and hang around stuff , that narrows the search down .
  11. One thing that most inexperienced anglers do wrong is not match up their lures with their equipment very well . I see it all the time and made the same mistakes myself . Its hard to be successful if one cant present lures effectively and effortlessly .
  12. I have a Bushnel clip on from Wal Mart . Had it for several years . It has a red light setting that comes in real handy for night fishing .
  13. Really? I've ate mushrooms all my life with no ill effects until now .The Chicken of the Woods have made my lips numb before , so I stay away from them .This time , with Chanterelles , I was sick for over 24 hours .
  14. Boom shaka=laka GGGGGgiant bass .
  15. Maybe . Bass are everywhere in Missouri . I even catch them out of ditches .
  16. I agree that you have to find the bass to catch them but I think finding bass is the easirest part of bass fishing .
  17. Its possible but I'm extremely careful . Weve been picking Chant's from this patch for several years . I threw some out in the yard and went back this morning to double check . I think my brother and I developed an allergy to them .
  18. Bass are not endangered . Where I'm located bass are everywhere . You go down the bank fishing visible cover and you will be showing bass your lures .
  19. Im a mushroom forager and the chanterelle's are out . They are delicous . My brother cant eat them . They make him terribly sick . Well , it happenned to me . Fried a batch up yesterday and all night my stomach has been rolling . Been making numerous trips to the john with diarrhea . I'm positive I ate chanterelles but no more . I'll just have to wait for the oyster mushrooms to start growing .
  20. Cancer sucks . I wish the best outcome for you two .
  21. Trail cam photo . I think this is going to be a big one , Still have a couple of months for those antlers to grow .
  22. I have not noticed green clip ons but I have never shopped for them .I wear the clip-ons and they work ok until the sun angle comes in through the side . The next pair of scrips I am getting is going to be the ones that turn dark and polarized when exposed to uv rays . They will not be brown or green lens but that is not a big deal . I have to wear scrips so that appears to be the best solution for me .
