  1. I got a pension at 49 , then started my own bussiness . I retired for good this year at 64 . I wouldnt mind part time employnent , as long as I enjoy it .
  2. That sounds fun . Do you expest to be able to afford to pursue this venture for an extended time ?
  3. You are what we call an "Inovator"
  4. Is it worth fishing after heavy rain? Absolutely
  5. RIP . I still have my fiberglass 7'6" flipping rod that I purchased after reading about his expoits .
  6. I cant find this on the interwebs , so I'll ask here . How many Elites get cut in 2023? How many anglers do they want ? 100? Are they still going to have legendary exemption ?
  7. I was wondering how you got that offset worm-hook attached as a trailer then I noticed this is a barbless bait .
  8. So youre saying your hook-up ratio is phenomenal ?
  9. I have an uncle who bass fishes almost everyday with a Zebco 33 and a few lures . He fishes a pond from bank and he says he catches a lot of fish . I think his version of good fishing is different than mine . The times I took him in a boat he caught squat . I mean even on great days where I was killing them , he caught nothing. He fishes his own way ,never changing , which is alwasys s-l-o-w with little lures .My point being , just because a person fishes a lot does not mean they are good at it . Like Road Warrior said , hang around here and you will learn how to catch bass .
  10. If all he uses is a Mepps and a Rapala ,you will be outfishing him badly in no time .
  11. Wow , it seems like they would be great cover . These are on a featureless flat devoid of breaks or cover.
  12. Zaldain Feider Felix Schmitt Hamner Last time they fished here I picked Johnathon Van Dam and he finished in last place . I also had Mark Daniels , he came in first . Good info . That should make things interesting .
  13. I was fishing fram a canoe with a bait dangling in the water when a smallmouth grabbed the lure and was in the process of jerking my rod in the water . I lunged and grabbed the rod , in doing so the canoe almost capsizes , water comes over the side filling the canoe with gallons of water . So I beach the craft empty the contents then dump the water . When I finished there were several dozen smallmouth just watching me . So I picked up a rod and caught them one at a time .
  14. I have been searching for this , I recieved a tip about it last year , at the end of my fishing trips . Yesterday I decided to look for it first thing and was ready to give up . I was actually heading away but got the urge for a couple of more passes .
  15. Alec Redwine just said " We are all different , we think different , we fish different . " Exactly . Thats what I like about this forum .
  16. Carolina rig with a 1 ounce sinker is a good search bait in deep water . I like the 3/4 ounce Red Eye Shad too . I tried the 3/4 ounce football jigs but the fish keep getting off . Never had a lot of luck with the heavy spinnerbaits that deep but lots of folks do . The 25.5 Berkely Dredger will hit 20 foot . I caught bass with it as deep as 22 foot .
  17. Every single angler , every single day catches a limit . Thats unreal . I'd rather watch a tougher tourney .
  18. Man ,thats crazy .
  19. I knew there was a pile of pallets in an area and have searched for it off and on for two seasons . Its an elec motor only lake , so searching for it is really time consuming and I rather be fishing than zigzagging back and forth . Yesterday I finally ran over it . My vintage Ealge Fishmark 320 showed it perfectly at 15 foot deep . So I toss a buoy out and fish it for 30 minuted without a strike . What a let down . I was thinking a lunker bass would hit at any time . Oh well , I have it triangulated now and maybe catch some fish from it this fall . I caught plenty of fish shallow , they havent been biting good in deeper water this year .
  20. Dont fish past the thermocline . Look for classic structure , such as points , humps and ledges . They are easy to locate .Use Diving and sinking lures .
  21. My suggestion has been {and I'm the only person who has liked it } is one unit at the console and one at the bow . Choose whatever .
  22. 20 lbs isnt enough to make the cut .
  23. The 7 foot mh bait caster can be used for all kings of stuff. Spinnerbaits , buzzbaits , crankbaits , Texas rigs , Spooks... Find the weight that it cast the best and stick with that .
  24. When I first started throwing Berkely Dredgers in 15 to 25 foot of water , I was catching limits in places bass have never seen a crankbait . Now I catch one and the bass scatter . I think the rattle has a lot to do with it . The quieter the bait the more I like it . Plus the hooks and split rings make noise .
  25. I pour my own and a 1/2 ounce bait with 4.5 willow and Colorado is the blade combo I use most . I can run it slow just under the surface by raising the rod tip a bit or burn it . I catch bass all summer on it . If I desire even more lift then part of a stick worm used as a trailer will create drag .
