  1. You could always pour your own then replace them before a catastraphic failure occurs . You dont have to buy lots of blades , swivels... Just reuse the same ones over and over . I retire them every thirty or so fish .
  2. I tell my lures to not catch dinks and only catch big ones but they dont listen . I throw them around cover and take what the water gives up .
  3. A guy at work has a brand new truck and we kept putting bird seed on top of it . LOL
  4. I fish to many to mention . A couple that has been seeing a lot of action lately is an old Rebel Popper that is bigger than the PopR . Another is the original Fats Gitzit .
  5. Dont waste your time fishing pass 9 oclock because the fish quit biting . Wait , that was the worse advice .
  6. What are your thoughts on this subject today . Bright shiny bullet weights vs dull or painted weights .
  7. My big five are T rigged worm spinnerbait buzzbait Crankbait , lipless , square and deep divers jig honorable mention all the rest .
  8. After a year of over-achievement , I'm back in next to last place in the group, counting everyone who participated in every event .?
  9. Bass miss them all equally .
  10. I look for the depth that most of the shad are located with a depth finder . They are so delicate that I assume they hang where the O2 is most concentrated .
  11. Get some marker buoys . When you see a spot that gets your attention , drop a buoy close by . This will give you a reference point . I use buoys all the time . . My depth finder is an old single color one too . So what . I locate and catch bass frequently with it . A trolling motor would be a big asset . My favorite lure for smallmouths on points are tubes .
  12. I wouldnt even know how to guess . Frogs are pretty low but it depends on the day . I'm beginning to think my success rate depends on the fish and not .my performance .
  13. I think I would just put the trolling motor down and fish it all .
  14. Man , your on fire .
  15. With all the islands and point there should be a lot of open water structure to fish . I'd spend a lot of time checking that out .
  16. I wear progressive scrips 100 per cent of the time . They now make a transition lens that turn darker and also polarize when they turn dark . Thats what I'm getting next . Even on cloudy days my lens turn dark . The only downside is they wont be amber but that is no big deal .
  17. A big bass to me is not the same for WRB . When I look back at the 6lb plus bass I have caught , when where and how is quite diverse , The only common denominator is they were relating to some sort of cover or structure . So I spend a lot of time fishing cover and structure as efficiently as I can .
  18. Catching a limit of two lbers in three hours is pretty good If possible , fish longer.
  19. I cant tell you . All ponds are different . Frogs work well in slime that a lot of ponds have . Texas rigs and spinnerbaits usually go through cover well . What kind of cover does it have if any ? Does it have steep banks , flat banks..?A pond is just a little lake .
  20. I only have about 5 . Luckily , I rarely lose a squarebill .
  21. Depending on weight and where I'm casting I use a 7 foot mh or 6'6" M . I dont have a dedicated squarebill rod .
  22. It works . I use to do it a lot . Since I discovered VMC offset hooks , I dont do it any more . The unusual bend on the VMC keeps the worm in place much better than any other offset hook I have used .
  23. I have never looked for that when scoping out points . Not saying its wrong . I just look for the cotours , cover and fish . Most of the muck I encounter is silted in low areas , not high on points .
  24. You used a Texas rig then failed to mention it .?
  25. Discontinued a few years back but I like the Rapala Crankin Rap a lot .
