I saw Bryan Schmitt put a bleeding bass in the livewell then pour Mountain Dew inside .

I like to hit deep points with cranks and worms . Then hit the shallow cover with the usual lures . Spinnerbaits , squares , buzzers , frogs , toads , worms...

While I'm at it , I dont have Drop Shot weights either . A bullet weight , bobber stop and overhand knot works .

I'm not wasting cash on tungsten Neko weights . Just take an old crappie jig head that you have laying around , clip the barb , bend the wire and insert it into the worm .

My local WalMart always has a few keepers .

I like the weighted hooks with the hitchhiker . The weight keeps them from turning upside down . The ones I have been using , which were recommended by Jaderose, are from VMC .

The bass in the bottom photo is not the same fish as the one in the top photo . Nice fish .

I guess the past two years I have caught in the neighborhood a thousand bass on a spinnerbait . Caught a five bass 20 lb stringer a month ago on one . They just work where I fish .

What I dont understand is why all these anglers sandbag their weights except for the ones on my squad.

They all work but you have to use something . I opt for a willow/colorado combo the most . They got hot for me years ago and stayed hot . All types of water .

Just get a spinnerbait that weighs just right for your combo . I prefer a half ounce . A willow colorado blade is a good do it all design . Gold/Chrome is popular . I prefer baitfish imitating skirts most the time . Then watch the video Road Warrior posted starting at the 12:55 mark . That is the key to spinnerbait fishing . Presenting the bait accurately and silently is more important than everything else combined . Watch the other video too . Glenn again expresses how critical it is to cast it properly . The lure should precisely enter the water like a frog or fish not like a walnut .

I like rattling baits on the Mississippi . Usually when fishing lakes I prefer silent baits .

top water time here too . I have been catching bass on a buzzbait and frog but nothing over four lbs .

I use a half ounce with a skirt a 3/8 ounce with a swim bait . That will be the sweet spot with my buzzbait /spinnerbait rod . A plastic swimbait weighs more than a skirt so I use a lighter weight with it .

Take an el-cheapo crappie jig , clip the barb off , bend the wire hook to a U-shape , then insert it in the worm . It will hold and save money .

I have an unusual soft prop bait made by Burke . Its the middle green one .

I dont have auto pilot and dont like my motor on continuous . So I do the stop and go method as needed, even though that is suppose to alert fish more readily .

There are numerous lakes within 70 miles of me that I havent fished . I know what to expect though . Stained to muddy water . I will look for points . I love fishing points and if there are obvious ones , they will get fished . Otherwise I'm beating visible cover or going down the bank . Four hours isnt much time.

I've been pleased with the Piscifun Phantom . They are around 70 and with discounts can be had around 50 . Some people are afraid of their durability but I have been using one heavily for three years and it has performed admirably .I dont like the Phantom X as much , they are not as smooth as the Phantom .
