  1. 1st bass of the year . I was fishing for rough fish with night crawlers and was surprised to catch this . The river is high and muddy and I was fishing along a current seam .
  2. I've had it figured out before too . Many times .
  3. I guess I had the ones that fell apart . I had two and they both unexpectedly broke on 2 lb bass .
  4. I do like the blades on the Terminators .
  5. I was canoeing a small river . 14 miles up stream is the dam of a major reservoir . They release water randomly . It rises quickly and gets fast . I noticed the water rising so headed back downstream to my takeout point . On the way down I spotted smallmouth busting shad in a large eddy created by the rising water . I pull the canoe into a laydown tree , step on the tree and start catching bass . With the water rising , a lot of floating debris accumulated around me covering the surface . I slipped and fell in . When I climbed out there were dozens perhaps a hundred spiders clinging to me .
  6. Most of the time I dont use compact baits , unless fishing deep water . I like plenty of room between the blades and hook .
  7. I pour my own . The lure I use over 90 percent of the time is a 1/2 ounce head . Thats the weight that my spinnerbait rod cast best , which is the most important aspect of spinnerbait fishing .Willow /colorado blades , a dull bait fish skirt , not bright will catch me more fish all year long . In Spring though , I want a bright skirt and slightly larger blades . I fish mostly dingy water and like to fish spinnerbaits Jimmy Houston style . Close to the surface where I can barely see the blades flashing. The spinnerbait pictured is what I throww the most . 4.5 gold willow , 2 copper colorado . Blade size differs by manufacturers . I fish this slow and over grass all the time . No problem, Just hold the rod tip a little high .
  8. The original post was if you were a top 5 angler , a KVD type , would you like to live life as a pro . Heck yea. I'd like to be a Tom Brady too .
  9. If I hadnt gotten married , yeah I would like that kind of lifestyle . I would have been staying in camp grounds .
  10. When I first got serious into bass fishing , I absorbed every tidbit I could about the sport . I was fishing the way experts said to fish . When I started fishing by my own wits , my success sky rocketed . Trust your instincts .
  11. Most of the time I drop my rod a bit before lifting the lure out of the water . A following bass may just clobber it , especially a spinnerbait .
  12. I have noticed them too . It has a good swivel unlike other inexpensive baits .
  13. Me too .One of the best post spawn lures I have ever used . I only use the silver flash .
  14. I have caught an awful lot of nice bass with a worm or jig after it leaves the cover . It happens all the time . They are not always buried up inside it . Sometimes they are close by. Sometimes they follow the bait .
  15. I work my cast longer than the pros . I see them pitch into cover hop it once then pick it up and repeat . I work all the way through the cover and beyond usually . Sometimes all the way to the boat .

Fishing the Mississippi river was best immediately after a barge passed by . The waves would dislodge things game fish liked to eat .
  17. Jigs and squarebills have been my most productive two but a lot of lures work well around docks .
  18. I just like the way Cox fishes . Hes fun to watch .
  19. For chickamauga I selected A Cox B Card C Crews D Christie E Mosely
  20. If there is current largemouth bass should be positioned down-side of cover . I have got on them a few times by fishing the down current side of points , lower lake area . I speculate the upper lake would be the same way .
  21. For some weird reason , I have had the best lake with Model A crankbaits in the fall .
  22. no new lures but I do want to try the Gamakatsu G-Finesse hooks .
  23. My crankbait box stores a lot of them .
