05 Nitro 640Lx 60Hp Tracker Worth It
I bet that isn't the original motor on that boat. Those boats are usually rated for a 90 to a 150 I believe. When I get to where I can purchase a boat I will not buy anything that isn't a 115 and up. Just my 2 cents.

Off Like A Prom Dress!!!!!!!!!!!!
My little girl is little! She just turned 4 and is a baller! Anything that is a ball sport she loves. Even the black puck! She watches my hunting and fishing shows with me! One day I hope she walks up to me and says "daddy let's go fishing" just like yours. Congrats on the wonderful day and the long lasting memories you'll have!

Help Me Learn The Frog!
No it should be fine. I was using a heavy in some nasty grass. Exposed dead grass was just above the water with some new sprouting up. I missed my first fish. It blew up. I felt pressure and set the hook. I knew I was supposed the wait a second or two. I think I was just surprised that I actually got a strike. lol The next 2 fish I caught. They both missed the bait the first time around. After they missed, I paused the frog and twitched it a little. I then retrieved it back and casted out again. Needless to say they both didn't miss. I counted a long 2 count and crossed their eyes! From what I have read a MH rod is better to walk the dog. I worked the frog like it was scarred and fleeing an attack. As with any lure let the fish tell you what they want. The reason I say this the next day I didn't get bit at all. . . . except the first place that I missed the one in the above paragraph. Guess what? I missed it again about the same time, the same place, worked in the same direction, at approximately the same time! Anyways just don't give up. I was using an Iobee frog. Spro makes a good one as well. I haven't heard much about the KVD but I'm sure it catches fish. As far as the jig. . . . I placed a $125 order. In my next tournament I will catch a bass on a jig or I won't weigh an d**n thing! lol

Help Me Learn The Frog!
I caught my first frog fish this past Saturday. It was my first time ever using the bait. So don't give up. I feel the same way about the jig. I have a bunch of them and have used them from time to time but I have yet to get bit. What power rod are you using? Are you immediately setting the hook on the blow up?

Frog Fever
I caught 2 nice ones in my tournament on Saturday. A 4 and a 3. I used a 6:3:1 reel and a 7' heavy action rod. I was ripping through new and old grass. A MH rod would have been better IMO if I wouldn't have been ripping it through some trash.

Do Any Of You Put You're Other Hobbies On The Backburner For Fishing ?
My sweet spot used to be 4-6 hours. Then I got older and remarried and another little one. That will probably change! lol I have been pretty much dedicated to working other than family stuff. Fishing was always the thing I gave up. Until last year. I suffered an injury from playing rec league hockey. I thought I tore my ACL. It wound up being a bad sprain. Talk about scary. I had no time at work to use on a surgery and there is no such thing as light duty in my profession. Workers Comp wasn't an option. I work and the wife stays at home to raise our little one. I couldn't afford to do that. So I gave up hockey. Fishing mad a helluva come back. I asked the wife if I gave up hockey, could I start tournament fishing? I received the nod and here I am. Fishing consumes my thoughts constantly. I also hunt and juggle going to Norman to watch my beloved Sooners, hopefully pound their foes into the turf at Memorial Stadium.

Do You Trim Your Chatterbait/boogee Bait Skirts?
I trim the skirt basically like I do on my jigs. I trim just below the hook bend. I thin my skirts if my bait is bulky or I want a smaller profile.

Hoyt Vs. Mathews
I'm a Matthews guy personally. I have never shot a Hoyt. I bet it is a great bow though. I have debated with myself on going to another bow. Then I read an article on the Matthews owner in a bowhunting magazine. I like that he is a Godly man and gives enormous amounts of money to ministries and charities. Just my 2 cents.

Scrounger Heads. What Do I Need To Know?
Tom, I enjoy your posts. Thanks for the history of this bait. I have read an article and Martens was quoted saying his idea was stolen. What a classless person. People think because they take something and modify it the came up with the original idea. I have lost respect for him.

Major League Fishing Istokpoga
I am now watching the 2nd elimination round. Ehrler is on the 2nd show. And he made the cut.

Major League Fishing Istokpoga
It could be many things. KVD no longer fishes FLW to my knowledge. They both may just be comfortable in their respective organizations. With Brent winning the first MLF, if I'm not mistaken, it was a field of more Bassmaster guys than FLW. SOOOOO in that theory alone I would say he doesn't need to. Not to mention they may have back door deal with the trails. Oh and another thing in the past it seemed both trails were making it difficult to fish both of them. I kind of rambled there on you. Sorry.

Scrounger Heads. What Do I Need To Know?
Ummmm no! The Grand Lake previous record, a 10.7 LM, was caught off a dock with a 1/4 oz scrounger with a baby bass fluke trailer. It is a fish catching machine. I have hooked 3 pound smallies and 4 pound LM with my 1/4's. Nothing bigger yet. It will be in my box for my 2 day tourny the 27th and 28th this month!

Chatterbaits
I use 50lb Power Pro. 7:1 reel paired with a 7ft plus MH rod. These lures have the action of a crank bait and the flash of a spinner bait. They are a favorite of mine for one reason. I am a non-boater and if the boater is tossing a spinner bait I toss a chatter bait.
