What’s a good rod for situation?
I use a 7'2 H fast action, as for rod brand or model, tons of options to be had.

Big bass only
Would an angler be able to weigh in at any given time to make sure the fish doesn't die (assuming a dead fish is not allowed)? If I caught a 9lber at 6:30, I would not like to take the chances on hauling it around till 3:00 or whatever time the weigh in was. If they did weigh in, could they go fish for a bigger one? I have had big fish die in the box, really sucks for the penalty, but sucks more so to kill a nice fish.

I like the name, hopefully they keep it when they move the team to OKC.

My only concern would be clearing the drag star.

Frogs
I have upwards of 40 something frogs. I throw the same 3 90% of the time. Pad Crasher in Bullfrog, Albino Frog or Ole Smokey.

Rod and line for Pad Crasher Jr frog
I throw mine in the same area where I throw the regular, which is thick grass and slop. Therefore, I throw them on the same rod which is a 7'2 H with 50# braid. I lose a little bit of distance and accuracy that I might gain if I went to a M or MH, but I am not willing to sacrifice the ability to get them back to the boat by getting down deep in the junk. IMO trying to keep their head up is part of the key to keeping them from getting into the thick stuff. Frog hookups are hard enough as is, if they get down in the stuff they have a much better chance of shaking loose in my experience.

I gotta learn
I agree for the most part. I am not real good at offshore deep water fishing. I can still catch them off shore if I can find some shallow water like a flat or hump, but like you, I struggle to catch them on ledges and underwater points if the water is deep at all.

I know a lot of people don't like Jonny for whatever reason, but I find his information to be very helpful.

Baseball Pitching: Spin Rates Tracking and Training UPDATED
That sounds really awesome. Unfortunately for me my son could care less about baseball, which is actually perfectly fine since he is a great student and more into science and how things work than anything else. That being said, my daughters are softball players and my oldest is 11 and she is a really good pitcher. The bad thing about that is, I have no clue what the basic mechanics are for pitching a softball. I have watched videos online, listened to coaches talk about pitching, etc. and I just don't get it. It is hard to help her when I myself don't understand the way you pitch a softball. About all I have understood or can tell her is to push off and finish every pitch. We send her to pitching lessons which is really about all I can do for her when it comes to pitching. I told my wife that I don't feel comfortable trying to tell her to do this, or don't do that, when I myself have no idea how to pitch a softball. Sounds like your son has a couple things going for him. First and foremost is a supportive father. I think taking a seat back from coaching and watching is sometimes the best choice a parent can make. I would love to do that for my girls, unfortunately they wouldn't be "coached" as well as I feel they need to be. Sometimes the car rides home from tough losses are hard, but hopefully they know that I am doing it because I love them and want the best for them. Second thing, it really sounds like your son works hard and is taking the right steps to be successful. In today's world, it seems as though kids have to decide at a young age that if they truly want to be good at something, they better put in the time and effort it takes. Good luck to your son, I hope he makes the varsity team. Most importantly, I hope his health and strength are there throughout his time as an athlete and he stays injury free.

Trailer Wiring Problems
My side marker lights just press into the holes. If they have a rubber gasket around them then I would guess they are the same as mine and can just be pulled out with the help of a flat head screwdriver or something similar.

Fishing standing timber
I fish a lot of standing timber and nasty stuff. My best advice, buy a lot of extra hooks and have them handy because if you are fishing where the fish are, you are bound to get hung up. I almost always fish a soft plastic either weighted or weightless when throwing in timber. The most productive areas for me are depending on the time of the year. Right now, when the fish are out in deeper water I find that the outer most edges closest to the deep water seem to hold more fish. When the fish are up shallow (pre-spawn, spawn) the timber closest to the bank seem to be the best. All this will change if you find a channel swing with under water current or a spawning flat where there is timber near by, then I choose to throw a reaction bait to pinpoint the depth they are and go from there. In my experience, if I find one or maybe two that are isolated away from a bunch of other stumps, I will always hit them first and spend just a few more minutes there before I move along. A lot of times though, you better be ready with that first pitch or cast because sometimes it's that first cast that will get hit and then you may not get them to take it on the next 30 casts. One other thing I would add: I tend to let the fish "take it" in open water before I set the hook, in timber I swing away when I "think" they have it. I think they often sit under or behind logs, branches, etc and when they take it, they swim back into where they came from which has unfortunately left me hung up on multiple occasions.

linking humminbird?
I guess it would depend on if you are going to use one transducer or go with 2 if you use 2 units. If you are using 2 transducers you could go with a SI at the console with a transom mount transducer and just DI at the bow with a TM transducer. I would want my bigger unit with SI at the console as I spend more time on the big motor using SI to look for structure, ledges, etc.

MLF-Sturgeon Bay
I like the emotion Justin Lucas showed there when it was final. I was pulling for MDJ, but I didn't really care either way. To see how much it meant to Lucas just goes to show what some of these guys put into it.

I don't know
Plenty of full size SUV's on the road today. Chevy could even use the Tahoe platform, make it a 2 door, change the front end and interior and call it a Blazer and sell plenty of them. I guess I just don't understand using the Bronco and Blazer name and making something totally different.

I don't know
If Ford and Chevy would bring back a full-size 2 door version of the Blazer and Bronco, they would sell like hot cakes. No idea why they took both of them and put them on small crossover type bodies.

How difficult is swapping Curado K handles?
You won't really notice much difference at all. I can't tell the difference on the water between a 90 and a 95. I swap them around sometimes just because. You are talking about 2.5 mm on each end of the handle, only a slight difference. The only thing I have to have that stays consistent from reel to reel are the knobs. I put the Shimano Power Grip R handles on all my reels.
-
What’s your favorite reel brands?
Those are decent ones, but the best are Runcl, Sea Knight, Tempo, Sougayilng, Cadence, Yorten and Kalex.

Front rod locker tackle storage solution?
I was referring to the part in bold. Sorry, I was just saying that technically you could put one wherever you wanted.
-
For the Bank fisherman: What "pushes" your buttons while fishing?
That's obviously where one can go to buy drugs. Instead of shoes from the high line wire, it's fishing lures.

Front rod locker tackle storage solution?
You have to drill into the boat when you put one on the front deck, it would be the same principle on the back.

Your best worm colors
I throw green pumpkin or a variant of it (red fleck, blue fleck, magic, etc) 90% of the time, so it goes without saying that it accounts for the majority of my catches. Other than that, something with blue tones (low blow, sprayed grass, junebug, etc)

Wife thinks I'm crazy, let's see your Tackle "Reserves"
Same. I keep telling myself I am going to go through everything and organize it, seems like such a daunting task. LOL

Shimano Zodias rods 2020
Don't tell me that. LOL I have 9 of the old ones and I don't need to be replacing them. I do love those handles on my Adrenas though so I can only imagine how well I will like the new Zodias.

Shipping nightmares
I ordered 2 100 ct packs of 7" power worms straight from Berkley (Pure fishing) and when the box arrived there was only one pack in there. No big deal, mistakes happen, they will make it right. This was on a Friday. I sent an email to them through their "Contact us" part of their website. No reply from them on Monday so I figured I would give them a day. No email from them on Tuesday so I called. I was on hold about 15 min and gave up. Sent another email, this time from my email to their customer service dept. No response on Wed so I called again. On hold about 20 min this time until giving up. Thursday came and went with no response from them. I called again on Friday and was on hold 36 min this time and still didn't get to speak to anyone. I sent two more emails on Friday to 2 different emails that I could find online. Monday of the next week passed and I still had yet to hear from them. I called on Tuesday and stayed on hold for 44 min when someone finally answered. I told her what happened and what all I had tried to do to get it taken care of and she just gave me one excuse after the other. She kind of acted like she didn't believe that I didn't get both packs but finally said she would have another one shipped. Well, that was 9 business days ago now and they still aren't here. I will not be ordering directly from them again.
