Big Swimbait
I am new to larger hard swims. I have a Triple trout 5" Stubby being custom painted, Black Dog G2 Shellcrack, two BD regular Shellcrackers, and three Bull Shads. All are top notch quality baits. I was using a River2Sea V joint minnow 110 deep diver today and caught a couple bass on it. Not really considered a large swimbait but it looks bigger than it is with a rather fat belly. Swimming action is great and it suspends at about 8'. I swam it real slow in the 42* water with plenty of pauses. Seem like a pretty well made bait too. Another guy fishing today caught a 5-6 on a rattle trap that had a 10" bass in its mouth. They are just starting to feed in Virginia with a couple warm days we had. Wonder how that Mattlures Bass would do?

Northland Fish-Fry Minnow Trap
I tried one of these for the first time today at the pond. Water was 41* and fish were on bottom at about 13-15'. Great vibration with light 8# PP braid. I was actually using the 1/8 oz. I was going slow on the trolling motor till I marked fish. Turned of the motor and cast back behind me. Let it sink to the bottom and then held my rod at 10 oclock. Lifted it to 12 oclock and with tight line let it go back to bottom. Only had a couple hours but got three about 14". Not the cheapest in the world so am glad my little opond does not have much brush in the middle where I was fishing. http://www.northlandtackle.com/Category/main.taf?cat=585

Recessed Trolling Motor Tray?
I installed a Comfort Troll brand in my boat. This one is thick metal with strong welds and non chip powder coat. Pedal from my Maxxum fits well in it. I have seen cheaper ones made of plastic and thinner metal that I would not reccomend. As said as long as no structural bulk heads its quite easy. Where a mask as fiberglass particals and not good to breathe in.

What's Up With Pradco?
I think alot of their stuff is lower end and does not get alot of attention from the pros pinping it.

Changing Tiny Split Rings

Need Help On Pouring Soft Plastics
He is hand pouring so an extender wont help. Try heating the plastic fairly hot so it is thinner. This can be difficult with a heavy salt mixture. You must pour a thin stream straight down the hole without touching the sides. Take your time and do two cavities per heat. Dont try all four or 5 at once. Keep topping off as plastic cools and sucks in.

Anyone Here That Can Make Custom Plastics

Floating Jerkbaits
Cheap snap ring pliers work really well. I got these http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-5-1-2-Mini-Split-Ring-Pliers-7056SR/280749648912?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222006%26algo%3DSIC.FITP%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D19853%26meid%3D4864563870541409496%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D8938%26rk%3D0%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D390751255779

Livetarget Baitball. ..am I The Only One....
It may trigger strikes if smaller baitfish are around and that is what they are feeding on rather than a single larger meal. As said Koppers makes a quality bait so you cant really lose. I have plenty of squarebills, Scatter Raps, and cranks that I just dont need another. The Scatter Rap idea on the other hand is a known fact that a crank that "hunts" WILL catch more fish. Why else would people spend $20-$30 on a pre-Rapla Wiggle Wart? I have done very well on the Scatter Rap Crank on a large variety of fish including big Bluegill, Shellcrackers, Longear, Crappie, perch, pickeral, catfish and big 20#+ Grass Carp. Oh and they work on Bass too

Major League Fishing 2014
I got kinda bored with the smallmouth fishing in Michigan. Techniques and bite that I just cant relate to living in the south.
-
Which Line Size Should I Use?
I use the same rod and 20# Power Pro is great on it. If going straight to the reel with braid, put some double sided tape on the spool first or the braid could slip.

Squarebillz
I know when I am in the back of a quiet cove the rattles from the crank is amplified and really loud. I catch fish but never tried a silent SB.

Matzuo is South Bend now I think. I bought a Kinchou minnow to try. Kinda crappy and hooks are worst I have ever seen.

Soft Jerkbaits- Different Brands For Various Techniques?
Hook up with a custom plastic maker who makes a fluke knockoff and have them make it with their Senko formula plastic so they sink slowly.

How Cool Is This?
Yup. In fact the one I have is a Chuck Wollery signature edition Ya the pull string becomes a leader when fighting a fish. The tail seems pretty durable.
