Personally, I'm passed the average fisherman stage and have went to the dark side of being an enthusiast. I prefer high end gear these days over low end stuff. Do I need it to catch fish... No, but I like it and it makes me happy. If I'm spending my money on it then I don't care about someone else's opinion. If I wanna spend $750 on a combo then that's my choice though. I won't down others that use cheaper equipment. Two of my good friends and fishing buddies use budget gear. The last time out the one out fished me using a combo that cost 1/3rd of mine. I still had a good time fishing with my friend though. We all fish for enjoyment. That's the bottom line of it all.

I car top my ride 115x all the time. I've taken many of trips on the highway at 75-80 mph. My friend car tops his lure 13.5 and sometimes with another friends 13' yak too. Never had any issues in the couple years of doing this. I use the window clamp style roof bars on my Legacy now. I did use the saddle type on my old Outback. He uses the Malone J style craddles on his Forester. Use 2 good cam straps and another tie down on the front and back of the yak. I like the Malone sentry ratchet style for those. What kind of car are you using? Should be an affordable option available for it.

The new tatula sv will run you $140 on eBay,or a used SV103 but that will get you closer to $200. However, it'll last you for years to come and uses the same internals as the tried and true original Daiwa Zillion that has proven itself over and over.

It's also only good to the original buyer and has to be purchased from an authorized MB dealer. I'm right there with you @Yudo1 One of their best series available. More crisp than the xxx and a very versatile lineup. I currently have 6 and have sold off 4 others. All were used except one.

Length isn't as much a concern as the weight. 20-25lb Pline cxx is a common line used. As for exact sizes of lines used I don't know.

None of what you mentioned are really considered a true high end reel. The $200 price point is about mid tier. It's a very competitive price point and there are some great options in it. Right now Daiwa only has one high end reel available and it's the Steez SV TW @ $499.

Call Daiwa (562-375-6800) and speak to Thelma. You need part number 380-1660 for a Laguna 100 reel. It's the same part for right and left hand.

Finally received my modified driveshaft back and got it installed in the Itö 103. Allows the use of a 10mm Steez bolt instead of a nut. Reason - Itö's are known to strip out aluminum nuts sometimes. This one was no different.

Unfortunately, it seems that you pay more for the name on that reel. I'm all about quality gear, but I have a MB luvito 256 which is the MB version of the 2012 Luvias and I also have the Jdm 15 Luvias. The 15 Luvias is just as smooth as my friends Steez.

Much cleaner option that looks more like the sprinker and actually keeps the tail in line with the frog. You only need a swivel,cps, and your tail of choice.

It was purchased somewhere else and then sent out to be blasted and painted. The bumpers are custom. They were sent out to be anodized.

Not good for frogs and it's not really a good choice for a c rig rod either. The length is great but considering you'll be using 1/2oz weight plus the hook/bait you are at 3/4-1oz which is at the top of its rating. Better off with the perfect pitch for those two techniques.
