Huddle Gill Update
^^^ this X 100,000,000 Flippers should take a long walk off a short cliff! I've been amazed at how people in the swimbait world pull together to help someone in need. It's a brotherhood and sadly there are people who just want to make money off of a bait. I sold my extra gill for cost to someone who didn't get in on the pre order. I could of made profit on it by putting it on eBay but that's not my thing. I'm preaching to the choir though. People will continue to flip for money and not bat an eye.

What Swimbait Would You Recommend If You Are Going After 5Lb-Ers?
Fisherrw - Then swimbaits probably aren't going to be for you. $20 is cheap compared to what a lot of them run. I'd say that's the very bottom. OP - Like Francho mentioned there are some smaller baits in the 6" range that work well. 6" hudd 68 hudd 6" bbz's Spro rat S waver 168 6" 3:16 mission fish 6" 3:16 rising son Osprey line through

Daiwa Diehard Might Have To Make A Change
The argument is its not an upgrade at all. It's a Tatula with different cosmetics and a $200 price increase. I do agree with it being one heck of a reel for $85-100 though. Super solid buy!

Putting Backing Line On Reel Before Putting Fresh Line On
One thing that I've learned is they never hold the amount that is specified. Also Yozuri #15 is .016 in diameter so that'll cut down on the amount it holds also compared to #12 @ .013 If I was spooling that reel I'd use 60 yards of #12 mono and fill the rest with my good line.

Daiwa Diehard Might Have To Make A Change
You are the first I've ever heard that from. I had 2 Lexa's and 2 Exceler Exe's. All 4 have been sold off and are still in use. I fished them for over a year and pretty regularly at that. A call to Daiwa and they would have replaced them for you. Probably at no cost to except maybe shipping.

Native Bass Prey
Hey, I'm only 4'11 so that'll be enough with the midget jokes.

Native Bass Prey
I have and yes I'll agree that it may make a similar trail in the water but nothing I've encountered makes any type of noise that even remotely sounds like that of a buzzbait. They see it from below and make a split second decision to eat or not eat.

Any News On The Dobyns Fury?
Gary Dobyns helped in the development of the Powell Max. That's why Dobyns and Powell are very similar rods. Same guy was involved. I'll venture to say that there are only a handful of people who are as big of fan of the Powell Endurance series as myself. I'll also say that being the owner of some Dobyns champion rods that they are better than the Max series, and slightly better than the Endurance series. The Dx is a good bit better. The price tag on the champ and champ Dx is a bit high to me for what you get but I don't buy at retail prices so for what I paid I have zero gripe about that part. My last champ was $129 brand new shipped. I've also fished with some Ducketts for a bit. Specifically the micro magic, white ice, ghost, and the micro magic pro. I saw nothing special about any them. They were light in hand but that's about all I can say. Sensitivity was decent but nothing special. Guides were annoying to string up and offered no benefit to casting. Don't feel they deserve the $180 price tag that most of them have. I will say the same about the $340 price tag of a Dx though. Everyone has their own opinion about gear but some of you have the mindset of what you use is 'the best' and also talk badly about other companies. One thing is for sure and that is if you have no actual experience with something then you should just keep quiet about it. I'm not taking about trying out a friends rod for an hour either. Also seeing as the Fury isn't even on the market yet so anything said about it is purely an opinion. Well we all know what they say about opinions and a______es. Everybody has one! /rant

Native Bass Prey
It's just like some people throwing swimbaits that don't have any trout in their waters, but yet still get bit using a trout patterned bait. The bass see an easy meal and eats it. A buzzbait is another example. What does it really imitate that you have seen while fishing? For me the answer is nothing. Yet they still eat them. Opportunity to feed.

Putting Backing Line On Reel Before Putting Fresh Line On
Thats just simply user error. You can fill 3 reels with a 200 yard spool instead of 1 reel and almost a second. You aren't going to hit your backing if you have at least 50-60 yards of mainline on your reel. Unless you have a shallow spool that only holds 80 yards total.

Best Soft Plastic Craw?
Rage craw and rage lobster is what I throw 90% of the time. They just can't be beat imo. Next is the netbait paca craw in regular and baby.

Swimbaits
I wouldn't call it one dimensional exactly. You further explained it in your last sentence. Only taking your swimbait combo makes you fish it and only it. That way after two dozen casts and no bites you can't put it down and reach for a senko. It forces you to keep throwing it and learning the bait you're using. Generally you are fishing only for a few bites. Yes, there are exceptions to this but most people will tell you that's usually how it goes for them. More days than not.

Looks great. Good job on it.

Any News On The Dobyns Fury?
The argument with the Gl2 is what you get for the price. Not that it's a bad rod but not worth it or on par with other G loomis rods. Same argument with the Savy line of rods.

Daiwa Alphas Sv
Haven't done much testing but it casts a 1/4oz bait the exact same distance as a few of my other 'higher' end Daiwas.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Ordered a Jackall Gantarel in RT spawn gill. Excited for this one to arrive. Spring is near. I'll handle losing it a lot better than a hardgill too.
