If you are just looking to add the 'pretty' parts from Hedgehog Studios you don't need to buy a PX. A Tatula has the options of dress up parts. A PX is a true finesse reel to throw light rigs. Are you just trying to dress up a reel or actually want a reel for light baits?

I'm not sure of your budget but you can pick up a used Daiwa px68 for right at $200 shipped. It's a finesse reel straight out of the box.

Okuma guide select 7'11 heavy is an inexpensive swimbait rod to get you started or the Daiwa dx. You can use a round reel or low profile reel. Examples - Shimano cardiff 300 or Daiwa lexa 300 A strong Copoly line such as P line Cxx in #20 will be fine also. I was able to get everything new online by looking around. Rod - $115 Reel - $95 Line - 13

Yeah I can't really say yes or no. I know the Steez sv spool and the t3 sv spool are the same. Not sure about the ss sv spool. I would think other than color it was. Maybe someone else will chime in.

This was a Dobyns dx 704. I'll have to use the 713 probably for 1/8th.

Too tame? Like too much brake? It did tame the reel down but verse the 1016 spool it gets more distance and isn't as finicky. The 1016 was an improvement over the stock spool. It did the same thing for the reel as what the SV just did.

There's a ton of upgrades for Daiwa. Even more than Shimano for oem spool options that are interchangeable. You just have the wrong Daiwa.

They don't make any spool options for a lexa that I'm aware of.

Picked up the 1000 SV shallow spool for my Steez 100. Well it was nice enough out today that I spooled it with #50 braid '#12 mono' and did some yard fishing. All I had tied in was a jika rig without plastic that tipped the scales at 7.5 grams. Reel has lightly lubed Boca os7 bearings. Mag brake was on 3 and spool tension loose enough that when the lure hit the ground it causes an overun. First cast without any thumb I spooled it. Same the next. I'm thinking there is no way I'm making an 80 yard cast so I went back and looked up capacity online. Sure enough that was for the deep spool. Shallow spool will hold 80 yards of #10 sized line. Having no #40 I went with #30. I'm still blown away at the distance I'm getting with just a 1/4oz bait. I had the RCS 1016 spool in there prior to this and this spool I feel outshines it.

Doesn't matter if you ran out a few trips back if for the last 18 you lubricated after each outing. You just keep building it up. There is absolutely zero need to add oil to anything after each trip.

Yes, and a little heads up. A quick search will result in plenty of reading material on this topic and probably just about anything you'd ever want to know or ask about. Edit - Max got me.

I keep mine in plano boxes and label them. Craws,flukes,senkos,beavers,ect it lets me easily tell what I'm getting low on and need to buy. I can also grab the exact box I need while fishing and don't waste time digging around in compartments. I also take 2 boxes and create an assortment of go to stuff that I'll be using so I have it ready and within reach. For bank fishing I just make up 3 boxes with various things for the day and this will be what I do for kayak fishing this year too. Keep it light.

I've heard of doing this when setting magnetic brakes but never centrifugal. As mentioned already it does sometimes make it harder to get the sideplate back on the reel if set too tight.

I order pre made jig heads from Mike ^^^ Siebert Outdoors and then purchase skirts from fishing skirts.com That allows me to make a few in different sizes and head styles but the same pattern. Also have some extra skirts to use on a punch hub when I need to go that route.

I'm pretty sure he didn't buy the Gan Craft soley for it's color. He just ended up not liking it. These things happen. *** black looks good and is said to perform nicely but I don't like the trigger on the reel seat. So I sold it to buy a different rod. It was a waste of money but color played no part in it.

Someone in search of a specific CAR or TRUCK based even a little bit on color amuses me greatly. How is that statement any different?

On my old tin boat my Evinrude 40 didn't have it. It was easy to lift/lower by myself. I don't see it as a needed feature on a 20hp but it wouldn't hurt either. Now my trim motor is currently out on my Evinrude 150 and it requires two people to get it done. It'll be rebuilt/replaced before spring. I'm dying without it. It's a heavy sob.

I scored a champ 703 and champ dx 704 over the last couple months. Those are my 2015 rod buys. I caved in to the Dobyns peer pressure.

I don't know about moon phase as it applies to crawfish colors but there is a whole section on moon phase and how it applies to fishing in the book by Bill Murphy. In pursuit of gaint bass. It's definetly a good pick up for $15.
