  1. Yep, went to Home Depot to buy a dishwasher, most were on backorder, ended buying display model..at almost half off though, which was nice.
  2. Seems counterintuitive, but try burning it fast if your slow retrieves stop working. I've seen this work many times.
  3. Doc traveled ahead to see Glenn's announcement..must be good.
  4. I agree with Joe, you're the only one. But there is hope for your condition. I'm prescribing Fishing 5 times a week, preferably after a meal. Come back in 6 weeks if conditions persist.
  5. I grew up learning to fish from my older brother. We made a homemade seine with two tobacco sticks and would jump down in the creek on the way to the ponds with a 5 gallon bucket to get our shiners, craws. We caught a lot of fish. One day, after a buddy's dad showed me a Texas rigged worm, I went back with my older brother. Him with live bait as usual, me with my new Texas rigged Power Worm. I out fished him for the first time. I've had a Texas rig tied on ever since..that was in the late 80's.
  6. Hybrids are bass too...and dinner.
  7. Even if any of this could be proven, I don't have these problems. But I'm just giving my opinion. Trust me, the bait monkey convinces me that I need a bunch of stuff that I don't..but this ain't one of them.
  8. I've never understood it's purpose. Most mono's I've ever used doesn't need it. Once the line gets wet after a couple of casts it's good to go. Fluoro is supposedly waterproof so how does it soak in to help there? Always seemed like a product searching for a problem to me. I did buy one bottle years ago.
  9. We absolutely wore them out last summer in the river..shallow running chartreuse cranks reeled fast. Lasted about 2 or 3 weekends in August last year and then went back one weekend and nothing.
  10. 2/0 is what I use mainly for the Texas rig. If you are throwing thicker plastics maybe go up a size or two. Offset round bends are what I use. Weights..I have 1/8, 3/16 but have the 1/4 on most of the time. BTW, I ran across this a while back. A basic Texas Rig tutorial that might help. https://www.fix.com/blog/texas-rigging-for-bass/
  11. The only "must have" that I always have with me is a Texas rig setup..worms, lizards, craws, creatures, etc...in that order. Jigs, C-Rig, and Cranks are in a 3 way deadheat for 2nd place.
  12. Sometimes..it's all about asking the right question.
  13. So like Tom said, it's diameter..but assuming we are comparing the same brand line then 10 should be thinner than your 12 and cast further. Too many unknowns for anything else. Spinning or casting? What lures?
  14. Correct..and a change from 10 to 15 is very noticeable.
  15. Not really, other than several zip lock bags of plastics, every lure I own fits in one big Plano...its a big box though.
  16. Right there with you at 146.9....that .9 got off at the boat.
  17. I always carry when night fishing. It's rare, but I've seen some suspicious people not fishing around some of the parking lots. You just never know.
  18. Berkley's Power Worm is my #1.
  19. Tonight's main event in the back deck frugal (cough..cheap) beer championship features classic PBR vs reigning champ Miller High Life..should be a good one folks.
  20. Mine did this intermittently also a few years back and I changed the filter and plugs and it was fine. One of my old plugs was loose when I went to change it but went ahead and swapped the parts. I always wondered if the problem was just a loose plug. You could check that.
  21. A cylindrical mojo style weight might help.
  22. Welcome to the board!
  23. What a terrible story..kudos to the law enforcement down there for the quick arrests.

I grew up within walking distance from the creek before it was impounded. I live a couple of hours away now but try to hit it a few times a year. You fish it much?
