  1. Crazy to think about. I am sure other forms of life do exist in this universe. It would be intriguing, if we were to find them, what they would be like. Most likely they would simply be small bacteria, but what if they were complex, evolved creatures like humans are. Would they still be what we call "cavemen"? How would they adapt and grow differently based on their environment? If they are further developed than us, what inventions have they came up with without the preconceived ideas we all have? What if they had literally "re-invented the wheel" into a much more efficient one than we use. How would they communicate? Would they have a religion? What if they are watching us asking the same questions I just did? I spend a lot of time thinking about this stuff, however I doubt I will ever find out the answers. Science rant over.
  2. Wow, that sounds awesome. Sadly I'm busy then and don't feel quite ready to take my boat on a lake that size. Maybe i can make the fall get together!
  3. Not sure about order but I look on here. It's free so it's at least worth a try. http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp
  4. Sweet! I did a lot of research and they seem like great boats.
  5. How's it going guys. I check this thread regularly but haven't posted often cause you guys all have boats and I didn't. That just changed, though, cause I bought a boat this past weekend. 2007 Triton Tr-186, 150 hp merc, second console added, Lowrance HDS 8 gen 2 added. Runs great. If you guys are ever fishing on the Missouri side let me know and we can meet up! And, I know how you guys like pics, so here she is.
  6. I don't have much experience fishing any of these lakes other than LOZ but bull shoals ranked pretty high on bass masters top 100 lakes of 2014. You considered Mozingo? Not nearly as large as the others but I saw some pretty good fish caught there at a small tournament this past weekend. Big bass was 7lb in a 20 boat tourney.
  7. The #1 tip for jig fishing: Slow Down!
  8. Make sure to study up on some Coach Kent Murphy. Easily the most knowledgeable baseball coach on youtube (just don't watch with kids in the room).
  9. Thanks for this advice. Like I said, it sold before I bought it, but I think I wouldn't have been happy with that small of a motor. I've been boating with my grandparents since I was little so I already know a bit, and when I test drove the boat I bought (see post above) the guy showed me how to drive it. Thanks again!
  10. Thanks for the replies, guys. The stratos with the 90hp motor sold already, but it sounds like I didn't really want it anyways. I did, however, buy a boat yesterday. A used 2007 Triton Tr-186. 150 hp engine, the guy added an HDS-8, 82lb trolling motor, bought a passenger side console, and added a hotfoot.
  11. This is my kinda thread! It doesn't make me feel like I need to go to BPS and drop $300 on tackle. Knowledge sounds like the most important thing here!
  12. My top 3 colors are black, green pumpkin and grape (purple with sparkles). Powerbait is the only worm I use.
  13. Thanks for the insight. Good to know about stuff like that.
  14. Wow, you guys fish a lot! During the school year (except for the winter) I fish basically every weekend for 4 hours a trip. During the summer I probably go 3-4 times a week for an average of 2.5 hours a trip (due to heat).
  15. Have fun! Assuming this is your first time this year, there's nothing like making that first cast after a long winter of waiting. Tight lines!
  16. Thanks for the replies, guys. Anybody have any idea how fast a 95hp motor could push an 18' boat? Heres the boat in question. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/bod/4449262612.html
  17. Hey guys, looking to purchase my first real boat soon. I'm looking at two on Craigslist, and both are Stratos's. One's a '97 and the other's and '08. Both appear in pretty good condition. What are your thoughts on Stratos boats? Also, the 08' only has a 95hp motor. Is that too weak for an 18'6" boat? Heres a link to the leading contender if anyone cares to look it over. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/boa/4453304624.html Thanks!
  18. Yep, no reason to buy from Hobby Lobby without a 40% coupon. Back in my model building days I was there a few times a month and always used a coupon clipped from the newspaper. Sadly I never got an airbrush, so I can't help you out there.
  19. I got it from tackle warehouse.
  20. Can anyone explain this to me from a car standpoint? If they had open differentials the motor would spin the tire with the least resistance, aka the ones in the air. This would hold true even in 4wd. If they had locking differentials both tires would be spinning at the same speed. Any ideas? Or should I just head back over to the jeep forum lol
  21. I just got that same scale in a tackle box passed down to me by my great grandfather! I don't think any of the lures in the box he gave to me are special but I am sure he would love for me to catch something on them! Nice pics!
