  1. thanks for that reply frogfreak...you taught us all some marketing stuff
  2. check your guides...run a qtip through them and see if any of the cotton gets stuck and if it does that could be the reason
  3. @new2BC4bass....you could learn it you just have to take a small step at a time...like next time you are out loosen your knob a tiny bit more than you are used to just a tiny bit and youll get used to that and just keep going like that and youll eventually be able to ....if you have finger nails (i dont i bite mine lol) you could even run your nail on the side of the spool instead of thumbing it
  4. when there are thousands of dollars worth of fishing equipment in my truck you bet i am! if i have to go in the store and im with someone they go in store and i wait till they come back out to go in...or if im by myself i only stop where i can constantly see my truck to make sure everythings ok lol (either way everything gets locked inside the truck no matter what)...but really if someone has an NRA sticker i wouldnt take the chance they could be coming out or so
  5. i like it but i dont like when they make sharks out to be man eaters and such
  6. if was me i would probably try the lightest hook i could get away with and freeline it...and then i would con the girlfriend into rowing while i fish hahahaha just kiddinggggg lol
  7. yeah i usually dont go up there just to look either but if im in the area ill stop in to browse and see if i find anything interesting lol other than that i much prefer bass pro shops and will go there to just browse haha...usually when i go to BPS im there for a couple hours just looking at everything
  8. i use a 7'6 light action/extra fast tip to cast the 1/4oz and lower baits for flats fishing and it casts them pretty far
  9. yeah i dont think i would want to target someone with a NRA decal lol...i know if they targeted me would probably be their last target lol
  10. on my light saltwater rod i use for flats fishing i use a 20lb leader and sometimes a 40lb leader and i use running guides with an ID 3.18mm and it passes the line and knot just fine...if i used a slim beauty knot would probably be able to go a size smaller
  11. i can cast any reel without brakes i have a few modern baitcasters that i use once in a while...its all the same thing if you need to slow the spool down a little let your thumb graze the spool...im 29 right now and ive been using baitcasters since i was 7 that and i used to sit in the back yard trying to hit targets and trying to cast as far as i can for hours...i used to fish for snook everday for some years too and only used baitcasters...now im like 95% using spinning though edit: oh and i dont use level winds either...if you lay the line at more of an angle on the spool you can cast further
  12. wow here we have one that opened a couple years ago it has a lot of hunting but last time i was there maybe a month or so ago it seems like their fishing section doubled or tripled...i even forgot to look for what i was going there for lol (Carolina lunker sauce)
  13. nothing to be scared of...they could be selling off what they have because they wont carry that brand anymore or making room for newer models coming etc...and usually they still give you some time to return it if its not working anyway
  14. i have a bunch of rods for salt/fresh/flats etc but when i go bass fishing i only take one spinning rod...flats fishing i only take 1 spinning rod...bottom fishing ill take 2-3 rods (1 for bottom bait and 1 or 2 for casting lures)...even when i fish out of my boat which normally ill only be fishing dock lights for snook i only take 1-2 rods (in case one happens to break)
  15. my few baitcasters that i have dont have brakes especially my trinidads but really just learn how to use your thumb a bit and set it loose and let it fly...IMO brakes are for people who are inexperienced with the thumb
  16. i like when strike king made the double bladed buzz baits with the 3 bladed props (i think it was strike king) those were too excellent....but since i cant find them cavitrons are what i use now...but i really hate that metal bead in front of the blade
  17. user error on an iphone??? lol its made for people who dont know anything @michiganfishing1997 the iphone is made by samsung haha
  18. when i get a strike and it misses i stop the bait for a min then i give a good jerk and let it sit again usually after that first jerk they come back and suck it down...guess cause they think they stunned it on the first hit?
  19. you should use the smallest guide that can effectively pass the line and any connections...you should also check out the microwave guide system from american tackle..i have started using these on my light saltwater and freshwater rods and they are pretty good
  20. match it up to some mono...i think its 6lb diameter for the 20 and 8lb diameter for the 30....or just grab either because there really isnt much diff between the 2(i would opt for the 30 though just my personal pref) wow just looked it up and that reel holds 280 yards of 17lb line lol...if you use 20-30lb powerpro you going to need like 500 or so yards to fill it
  21. try going a little later its still day light at that time..if you could go from about 9-12 you probably have a lot better chance
  22. braid only...they are bass not too smart...now if they were bottle nose dolphin even they dont care for line color they will steal your bait without being hooked anyway lol(sorry for the dolphin rant i hate those pesky clowns when im fishing)
  23. why not just tie a nice size loop knot to the end of your life and try it like that?
  24. i dont have a problem destroying a lure to keep a fish alive...what if you had an accident or so and someone said nah my $10 tool is too expensive to break to save that persons life sorry
  25. lol must be nice today in south florida it was around 100
