  1. Wow that is heavy for a 1500 size
  2. Reminds me of my best friend growing up. He could not sit still, would literally rock in place ? Always enjoy Z's shows..
  3. A 6'6" MH/fast would open up to a wider choice of lures. Length for me personally I'd consider 7' for more distance. If your up close and throwing to target small areas a 6'6" would give you better accuracy. Whatever length you choose a MediumHeavy/Fast opens up a lot of lure options
  4. Junebug - Soft Plastics Black/Blue - Jig (only because ease of availability otherwise junebug would be it)
  5. Yep those gonna get you bit?
  6. Largemouth-10.5"worm Smallmouth-Sammy
  7. Could we close this thread it's costing way too much for a lot of us??
  8. I'd call wardens office if anything is questionable. Learned the hard way while living in Montana. Their fishery laws can get overwhelming with so many specifics on certain areas along same body of water. I'd bet @slonezphas it right way it reads
  9. His spinnerbaits was what I fished 50% of my time when living in Florida many years ago. Lots of bass, jack and BIG mudfish on 'em?
  10. 2 pins on spool tension so lure falls slowly(adjust with change in lure weight) 2-5 outside adjustment
  11. Nice fish. One trick is cut 2 pieces of fishing line for length and girth and use formula @soflabasser gave you. I'd guess #4.5-5.25
  12. Same here. If I had to pick one it would be 1/4
  13. I've got several Shimano, Abu, Lews, Quantum, Pflueger. I figure if you don't try different brands how will you know. Same with rods
  14. My OCD is in overdrive looking at that, may I suggest a Grainger store or catalog with your journey?
  15. One of my favorite memories is when my Grandfather setup a trash can lid in backyard and taught me how to first cast with a Zebco 33, still have that reel on my shelf from 40yrs ago. Since then I've always tried to do same with my kids and grands❤️
  16. FWIW if your local Bass Pro doesn't have the rods your interested in you can have them transferred from one of their other stores to your local store or at least mine did. My wife gave me around same amount on gift card a few years ago and one of the staff in fishing department had a Cara and Legend Tournament from another store sent so I could try them out. I don't know if that's the norm for them because I was in there a lot back then getting plastics all the time and always talking with staff
  17. Fish multiple new lakes Return North for Summer of smallmouth fishing Remember always how blessed we are
  18. Sounds like my neighbor across street ??

  22. Abu Garcia SilverMax Reel (3 of 4 still going strong after several years of use) Berkley Lightning Rod MH/Fast. Both out door under $100. Pflueger President Spinning Combo $70 and hard to beat at that price.
  23. KVD 1.5 Gizzard Shad mostly but in dirty water Chartreuse w/Black Back. Easy to get and decent price
  24. I've gotten several of my best deals on reels from them over the years.
