  1. I have a 6'6" mh veracity that I use mostly for buzzbaits, it is very light and well balanced (although that may be attributed to the relatively short length). I have not used a crucial, but I think that a mh crucial would be more comparable to the mh veractiy as abus are known for being pretty stiff rods.
  2. My uncle had a degree in geology, he was a park ranger, not sure if his degree had anything to do with the job though.
  3. I like it a lot, I throw everything ranging from weightless rage craws to super spooks on it, that's why I was saying go with a ml if you plan on throwing mostly lighter lures. I will say that my veritas does play second fiddle to my st croix avid, if you can swing the cash I highly recommend the avid.
  4. the road by cormac mccarthy is pretty good
  5. Just curious about the benefits of line conditioner on braid. I know most people use it to help manage the line, but I use braid on all but one of my setups both spinning and casting and never had an issue with braid.
  6. A mh or h depending on the brand would be great for jigs and frogs
  7. If you're gonna go the veritas route I would get the ml. I have the revo s 30 on a medium veritas that I use to throw a variety of lures, I hardly ever go under 1/4 oz with it and I think the ml would be better suited for the smaller baits
  8. when you test out lures in the bath tub because its too cold to go fishing
  9. I use a 6'6" mh rod, although a med might be better for some of the baits, for top waters. I like the shorter rod to work poppers and spooks. I don't think it would be optimal to throw frogs on that rod but I probably could. If you already have a jig rod spooled up with braid that could double as a frog rod
  10. I use palomar for almost everything. I will use an improve clinch with mono/copoly when tying big baits, ie spook, just because I think it's a pita to make a huge loop then try to run all the trebles through it.
  11. 1. original zara spook in black shore minnow 2. spro bronze eye killer gill 3. spro popper black 4. yellow/green laminate senko 5. any other senko 6. rebel pop-r 7. chatterbait 8. buzzbait 9. power worms 10. rage craws
  12. Not enough to bother me but it happens every now and then. More often with super spooks than anything else
  13. The only reason I would tie a leader is because sometimes braid will foul up the hooks on the cast, but even then I almost never tie a leader.
  14. IPT will vary on spinning reels based on the diameter of the spool (assuming they have the same gear ratio). Larger spool the more IPT. Also after looking around it looks like some reels do have different gear ratios depending on the spool size and manufacturer
  15. I think you have to pay to play the ps4 online now too
  16. My favorite lure is probably a frog, but I think the most exciting is a popper. Pop pop, pause. Pop pop, BOOM. There's just something about seeing the fish smash a topwater.
  17. Personally I would spend the extra cash on the xbox one. The xbox 360 is on the way out, and like others have said they will stop producing games for that system shortly. 500 might be a hard pill to swallow but the system is gonna be around for a long time, I've had my 360 for 6-7 years now and the life span of the xbox one is probably going to be just as long.
  18. If you do use snap swivels buy good ones. I was using some cheap ones I got at Walmart until I lost a koppers popper I had for about 3 casts. I don't even know how it failed, I went to cast then got a mean backlash and when I reeled in the line I had a broken snap on the end and my lure was gone.
  19. Anybody else eat chick fil-a fries with mayonnaise.
  20. The difference between an avid and premier is huge and well worth the money IMO.
  21. Premier is made in America I think the mono is made in Mexico.
  22. There's some crazy people on CL. A couple of my buddies tried to get a lady friend on CL, she ended up taking their money and bolting. They chased her out to the car and some guy that was with her pulled out a gun on them. Most of my transactions through CL have gone pretty well, thats where I got my car.
  23. throw some frogs on that bad larry
