  1. I would buy some braid, either 20 lb for the spinning rod, or 50lb for the caster. Then get a pack of 4/0 offset hooks, a pack of 1/4 weights and spend the rest on soft plastics. If you have a dicks sporting goods near you a lot of the time they sell big bite baits for 1.50 a pack, sometimes 5 for 5 dollars. Also zoom flukes and trick worms. A lot of plastics are cheap and effective, but if you're not already using braid that would be the first thing I would buy.
  2. You could switch the reels around and see if you like it better. I think the biggest at thing would be the gear ratio, but if they're that same ration I don't think it'll make much difference.
  3. Fat ika, kinami palm tree and damiki hydra. They're pretty much filled in tubes
  4. Thinking of hitting wachusett Sunday morning, anyone else want to join me?
  5. I wouldn't mind rotating a monthly sponsor. Get a list of volunteers and assign people a month to supply the prize
  6. No bananas on a boat
  7. Or perhaps the other way around. I wouldn't mind getting some rage lobsters from Shane or some jigs from mainebass
  8. I forget the name of the street, I think it's Randolph st. Drive past Massasoit until you see a sign for a temple, there is a turn in for the parking lot immediately after the sign for the temple. There's a beach about 100 years down from the parking lot. If you have a iphone shoot me a pm with your number and I can text you a pin on the map. Shore fishing is pretty unproductive there but if you have a boat it's not bad, there's a lot of pickerel in there too.
  9. I'm in. Who's gonna challenge me for last place?
  10. Nice fish. Tried chatter baits all day Monday got nothing, just picked up some rage blades too haven't fished them yet tho
  11. I thread the majority of the worm and leave a little bit hanging off the end
  12. I've only gotten 2 so far, one of a jig fished slow really slow, and one off a t rigged rage tail lobster also fished very slow
  13. I own mostly 1 piece, and have two 2 piece rods. I feel better using one piece rods because I always think I'm going to cast out half my rod with a 2 piece, but honestly I think it's all in my head and there's little if any performance difference between the two.
  14. Night crawlers on a bobber always worked for me. I usually pinch the worms in half to get the most out of them.
  15. Ya trout fishing can be pretty slow, my cousin and I had our lines in the water for over 3 hours before we got out first bite. Also if you have a bad back you should consider getting a folding camping chair, probably more comfortable than rocks
  16. Took the boat to ponkapoag today got a decent bass and a small pickerel. Might go hit the Charles in a little while
  17. Good luck and stay safe brother. Just don't let the bait monkey take all your deployment money when you get back.
  18. The bait monkeys big brother the surf chimp just hit me pretty bad. There is no end
  19. Not sure if they already stocked trout, but I went out with my cousin this morning and he got a pretty nice rainbow out of hopkington
  20. My cousin car tops his boat, looks a lot like the one in the picture. He drives a small suv, Mitsubishi outlander I think.
  21. I have a very manageable work schedule, just the idea of full time school is pretty daunting. Jigfishin10 just curious, did you go to wentworth. I've noticed that you post a lot in the eastern ma thread.
  22. I use regular power pro, I've used power pro super slick 8, suffix 832, and spider wire stealth in the past. Don't have anything bad to say about the other lines, power pro is just what I've stuck with. I will say that I've had a knot slip with the super slick, but that was just one time so I don't blame the line could've just been a bad knot.
  23. I'm looking to go back to school myself. Anyone here ever swing a full time job and school at the the same time, or do you think I should start off part time?
  24. I like 20 lb braid on my spinning rods, I just change it out whenever I don't have enough left on my reel. I don't know anything about walleye so I don't know if braid will be good or bad for that. I also like braid on my baitcasters for frogs and what not. I use both 50 and 65 lb. as far as distance goes check your brakes, they might be choking the cast, that or your rod isn't loading right. I think the rod has more to do with distance than anything else.
  25. Palomar for most, San Diego jam for larger hard baits. I'll bend the hook before the line or knot fails with 50lb braid
