  1. Of the 3 which one is the most expensive? You would have to be very savvy with the stock market. Its a very complicated dynamic between diamond and gold prices, lowrance and motoguide stock, and oil prices. Very confusing. Aside from the economic relationship of the three, there is a crucial dynamic domestically. You must have a truck to tow your boat to escape your lady. Of course, spending too much time with one of those elements will eventually lead to spending more money on the other two, lol.
  2. The only things better than a new lady are new boats and new trucks. Way to go Fish! Now its time for you to get a big one!
  3. Had one hell of an interesting evening. Took the old man kokanee fishing for fathers day mon-wed. Had a great trip, though fishing was a little slow. At any rate we still got him some of his favorite tasty little salmon. When we would catch them, we were just throwing them on ice in my livewell. When we got home, I realized that I had left the plug in the well leavinga few gallons of fish water. No big deal, pulled the plug and left the lid open. Fast forward two days. Those two days featured temperatures above 100*. Bloody hot. I kept getting this funky a** smell wafting in occasionally. Can't figure out what it is. While I was outside getting something from my truck, I notice my livewell plug has fallen off the gunwale of the boat and onto the driveway. I usually just keep it in the box. Lean over the boat and realize the lid is down on the livewell.... i had left it up. Open said, lid and I am punched in the nose by the nastiest decaying funk you have ever smelled. Commence gagging. Continue dry heaving. Evacuate the area. Locate lure painting respirator. Return to the scene. Examine the carnage. . . . My future step-mother's kitty. Apparently it had climbed into my open, aluminum livewell smelling of fish, bumped the hold open latch, closed the lid. Sat inside a little aluminum box, in direct sunlight, 100+ degrees for potentially 2 full days. How horrible is that!? I mean, I do not like cats, and I would have no compunctions about killing one quickly and humanely, but this is just toooo freaking gnarly. I told my dad's fiance that it most likely suffocated immediately, but with no plug and the overflow, it was probably the oven effect that did it in. So sad. So kids, don't leave your livewell open. In addition to the horrific death of a pet, you will have one HELL of a nasty clean up in your future. Gnarly.

  5. I would be SHOCKED if that fish went a spot over 5.5. Good fish for the midwest though.
  6. Please Release me + recirc+ plus hourly water exchanges when its over 85 outside. Problems solved
  7. That is ridiculous. "accuracy" needs to be defined. To get a scale certified, at least in CA, the scale needs to be accurate within 1 of its smallest units of measure. A boga grip is marked out in 4oz intervals, meaning, that to be certified, it most only be accurate within a quarter of a pound. So thats why they get all hyped out by people as being so accurate, yeah right, within 4ozs? A Salter Electro Samson is certifiable and its smallest unit of measure is either .5ozs, when in pounds and ounces mode, or .05 lbs when in the pounds and decimal format. By my rough calculations that makes this scale 8 times more accurate(certifiable with units of measure 1/8 of the boga) at simlar prices. The berkleys are also pretty good. within about an ounce typically, as checked against groceries weighed on certified scales.
  8. Spiderwire is pretty crappy. Sufix is where it is at. Aint nothing wrong with 80lb though.
  9. First 2 baits are a waste of money. Kong is good for the price.
  10. I gotta agree with Matt, a pit would be very cool. They really are great dogs and have an undeserved reputation.
  11. 10lbs-11ozs on a 10" swimbait. Also caught a 10lb10ozer about a week and a half before this.

  16. ummmm..... fishing.....
  17. it kicked her out in 2001 at 19 and change, you think that didnt make an 80 acre lake close to a metropolis heavily pressured? it has been beat hard for a decade, and it will keep getting beat. there are other very very big fish there.
  18. I'm not worried about people getting upset over my opinion. My basis, however, pretty much echoes bpm's but i'll elaborate on it a bit. I don't think that anybody is gonna argue that the swimbait bandwagon is the one to hop on these days. Thats good, it is THE best way to put yourself in contention for a PB. BUT these paddletails that everyone is paying out their a##es for will NOT significantly help your chances at a big fish IMO. They are horrifically overpriced, small, and not particularly realistic. Now before anyone brings up how much I pay for hardbaits and the apparent hypocrisy of me calling b-trix overpriced, consider this. My very high end baits WILL last me the rest of my life. They will also catch me big fish in the process. The ever so fashionable tube style baits, on the other hand, are a great way to pay out your ears and catch 2lb fish. I really feel that they do not increase your odds of catching a big fish, in fact, I think your odds are higher for a trophy fish if you are throwing a jig. Many claim that they are versatile. I guess that is true, but the many things they do, they do in mediocrity. There are better baits for each of their fanfared uses. So basically, in my eyes, people get on this swimbait deal with dreams of big fish. It can happen with swimbaits, thats why I love them. But if that is what you have in mind when you start down the swimbait path, then the tube style baits are in fact STUPID! If you are using them with the hopes of catching a few average or slightly better fish, regardless of cost, then more power to you. For me, I pay big ticket prices for big fish baits! Hope that doesnt hurt anyones feelers.
  19. I dont fish the hollowbelly baits at all. The predominate way of rigging them is with a weighted worm hook. ie the falcon bait jerker. There are a number of options on ebay from garage crafters that will allow a wider spectrum of weights and hook sizes. Also popular are swimbait heads like the ones sold at www.swimbait.com and underspins. Personally I think that the hollowbelly baits are stupid and a waste of time, but to each there own I guess.
  20. Welcome!
  21. Watch out Matt! All I need to beat you is a 16.75, LOL!
  22. I use an aluminum wire mesh for the scales. Didnt forget about you Ronnie!
  23. Robert, forget Camanche, dinky little spot factory anyway. I know of a great morning and evening spook and popper bite and you guys could catch worm fish too. I'll shoot you a PM. Its closer to you than Camanche as well. This quagga issue is definitely starting to get ugly in NorCal, its been pretty bad down south all year. I had some problems with it yesterday. The lake I went to does not allow outside boats on the water during the week because there is no one there to inspect them. So I planned on renting a 14ft Alum w/ a 6horse and I brought one of my electrics with me to control it. Now I should have known better, but after the 2hr drive and paying for the rental, the guy at the rental dock informed me that I had to get my electric motor inspected. I couldnt. So I spent 4 hrs trying to swimbait an unfamiliar lake with no trolling motor, in 25MPH wind gusts. What a bunch of crap. You could always fish the delta
  24. I try to only ride vehicles with internal combustion motors. Mountainbiking is ok when gravity replaces the motor. Only problem is....me and gravity dont get along, lol.
