  1. That's why you get insurance for em
  2. I like to texas rig them. 3/0 EWG with a 3/16 or 1/8 oz bullet weight.
  3. I wonder if these are more sensitive than the old Maxes.
  4. 3/8 oz spinners is what I usually throw.
  5. You shouldn't worry about the braid. The tree / whatever you're fishing in should be doing the worrying.
  6. Dude wipes**
  7. I've used Whiskey River Bait Company lures. Their 6" Whiptail is a great dropshot lure
  8. I've used the 250MB medium diver and it's pretty good. The paint jobs are nice.
  9. Does this happen to you guys a lot?
  10. I like original Power Pro, although I'm looking to try some 832 soon
  11. Awesome!! There's plenty more to come!
  12. Snapped a tree in half before the knot broke...
  13. I tried casting with no brakes on the first time I used my baitcaster.... Never going to do that again
  14. Tournament Pro 7.1:1 for jigs and plastics. Speed Spool 6.4:1 shallow cranks, topwaters
  15. You can find better reels that are around 100 dollars. Just look on e bay. Look at the Lew's Tournament MG or the Tatula. I found both for $103
  16. Also make sure you don't put too much on...
  17. How much do you want to spend?
  18. They can put a reserve price on an item in an auction, which means that the bids have to reach a certain amount or they do not have to sell the item. If there is no reserve price, then the most recent bid wins. If you bid low and no one out bids you then the item has to be sold to you, no matter how low the cost is.
  19. I've never had my alberto knot break. It has always been a nick in the fluorocarbon. I remember the first time I tried to use the alberto knot, I lost my bait because I didn't tie the knot correctly lol
  20. I like a 6.4:1 for senkos and worms. Reel faster if you need to, reel slower. 5.4:1 is too slow to reel up the slack and set the hook. I think 6.4:1 is just right for me.
  21. Why are you worried that the reel is too "fast" for him? Simple adjustments can be made to reduce backlashes. The kid is going to have to learn some day. Others on here have already listed quality baitcasters that don't break the bank. If you want to buy him a quality reel that will last a long time you can spend a little more and get a Curado I on auction sites for like $150
  22. I agree with Felix, you should bump your lb test a little higher. If you want to switch to braid 40 lb would suffice.
  23. If the rod can handle 40" muskies then I'm sure that it can handle a big bass. Have confidence in your equipment! The rod shouldn't break, unless it's a manufacturing defect.
  24. No, you can fish jigs practically anywhere. Presentation all depends on what the fish want. I usually experiment by with tiny hops, dragging, and shaking it. It usually depends on the time of day / year. If the fish are super lethargic then I'm going to fish the jig super slow. If they a little more aggressive I'll fish it faster.
