  1. Holy Gut!!!! Nice fish!
  2. I love this section of the forum! The real SHARK TANK!
  3. While I can see why you and a lot of the others are saying not to give him the time of day again, I tend to lean with Gulfcaptain on this one. If it were me, I would have a sit down talk with him and discuss how he made you feel and see if you can get some things cleared up. Regardless if you ever fish with him again, I feel you should do this. 1) To show that you can address issues in a mature, responsible way and 2) To attempt to resolve a "relationship" issue rather than just running away from it. See where the talk goes, and decide from there. It wasn't all bad, as he put you on fish obviously. Sometimes you have to earn your stripes... in fishing and in life.
  4. I assume you mean you don't care for the looks?
  5. Went for welding. Graduated top of my class with several over the road offers. Had an angel on the way and stayed home to be the best father/ husband I could be. I'm in the management level of commercial and facility maintenance now. Get to tuck in 2 angels and sleep beside my best friend every night now.
  6. Longest few hours ever! Never know what ya got till it's gone!
  7. Great pics! Congrats!
  8. I use 8 lb red label fluoro and good hooks. Never have to "drive it home". Have your drag set, some drag will peel when you set the hook if set right, then just reel up slack and give it a pop.
  9. Exactly. Let the adrenaline fuel your fishing.
  10. Honey... You said one more cast in November... It's January now!
  11. Quality of components, ability to get custom colors, wire tied skirts and trokar hooks make a HUGE DIFFERENCE. That's why I only use the ones I do.
  12. I've seen lots of people use a bobber on a slow retrieve boot tail or something similar to keep it at a certain depth.
  13. Hands down. One you go bluebasser style, you won't need the others!
  14. There is no right or wrong way to work the Ned. That's what throws off a ton of people. I usually slack line it, slow reel it, or try to imitate a small darting craw.
  15. Buzzbaits and spinnerbaits for sure. Finding recently bladed jigs can get thrown a lot. Only happens when the bass choke it, and you hook that soft fleshy part inside their mouth. Just pulls through.
  16. Please explain to me their importance. Tell me what they do that cats, dogs, coyotes, birds, insects and many fine products at your local hardware store don't already provide.
  17. I consider weedless to be something that can be fished effectively in weeds, grass and trees. Effectively being the key word. You can throw a t-rig, jig etc in weed, grass and trees and fish it effectively. I would not call a buzzbait weedless. Once the blades hit the weeds or grass, it either kills the action, or greatly reduces it.
  18. I agree for now, but when they are there in 8 days it will be a different story.
  19. Great fish! Don't be surprised though, she was exactly where she was supposed to be.
  20. Have you owned a boat before? The questions you are asking us are all personal preference answers. They may or may not be the same as yours. If you've decided to drop $30k on a boat, I would hope you have it pretty narrowed down to what YOU want. I can guarantee you however, $30k on a USED boat would never happen for me. A buddy of mine bought a basically new stratos in showroom condition for half that.
  21. The strike king in pro blue is a great producer for me.
  22. Great story. Hopefully he can afford the taxes and insurance in it. Would be a mean tease to get a new boat and lose it in a year due to that. I've seen it happen all the time with cars and boats from casinos.
