Everyone has a home lake and a lot of the time fishing history kicks their butt. Grand is a great lake and will have a good battle. Not trying to be a smart butt, but I think your comment of "let me guess, jerkbaits and jigs" is pretty bland... It's late February, early march... What do you throw? Let me guess, jerkbaits and jigs?

I prefer the 12-15" bass from a private lake I have access to. I'll take enough for a decent fish fry once or twice a year. Hot grease and Andy's fish fry. I make my own sauce too, ( old fashioned horse radish, miracle whip and ketchup. Fried fish with fried taters and onions with Mac and cheese is my little slice of heaven!

Top water is a huge part of my arsenal. Usually catches big fish, you can cover some serious water (and junk), and its freaking awesome!

Given the choice, you can probably force a bite on either in basically any (suitable) condition. Both can stay in the strike zone as long as you'd like,and you can make them both work as slow or erratic as you desire as well. I never use popper style baits anymore. Walking or buzzing baits always get the job done for me.
