  1. Take it you've never seen lonesome dove? Cottonmouths for sure breed in balls... A giant snake breeding fest... Others may as well, not really sure.
  2. So does Ace Hardware, owls, hawks, cats, dogs, coyotes, etc... As I said earlier... Only good snake, is a dead snake.
  3. The only good snake is a dead snake, and even those creep me out. I've been that way since I was a little kid. My body is moving before my brain even realizes what is going on. My wife and kids know to not get between me and the exit if there is a snake. Seriously... I'm so bad about snakes, that when I'm driving and see one crossing the road, I lift my feet up (inside the freaking car) as I hit it. Dead serious....
  4. x1000. Couldn't agree more. I've been a boater and a non boater and there is nothing more annoying than 30 boats waiting on 1 person that has to pull up and get straight 50 times. REALLY ANNOYING when it's a 4 lane ramp and he takes up 2-3 because of not knowing how to do it. Practice practice practice, and it sounds like you are doing just that! Good job! Nothing in the world prettier than the sun peaking over the horizon and 3-4 trucks backing in and dumping boats off in unison.
  5. Weird they went through all the trouble to get yours when there were other just as nice or nicer boats more easily accessible. Assuming since insurance paid out you got cleared, but around here there would have been a major investigation to make sure that it wasn't an "inside" deal. Glad you got paid and can move on!
  6. Spro bronzeye in nasty shad for hollow Zoom horny toads and rage toads for hard body
  7. Woke up yesterday to 70 degree temps and light wind. Hit a pond around lunch to kill some time and it was mid 60's with 15 mph wind. Took off at 6pm for a local tournament and it was 56 with 33mph gusts. Got off the water it was 42 still with 33 mph gusts.
  8. My wife can be complicated at times, and the pissy meter can definitely start to peg if I start fishing a lot or spending a lot on stuff I don't technically "need", but over the years it pretty much translates to making sure I show her and make her feel like her and the kids are the number one thing in my life. If that means miss a fishing trip here and there to go out with her, or have a family day at the zoo, I can handle that. Way different scenario between how your are with a GF vs wife. The one common I would say is if you have to define it as "having to deal with", then their are probably problems ahead.
  9. Sweet catch!
  10. Ugly stick will work just fine. They are a beast of a rod and can take a freaking beating.
  11. Bring em on then! I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready!
  12. Temps have dropped BIG TIME and the wind is howling in Bonner Springs now. Major difference from this morning. Hopefully the lake has some wind break to it.
  13. Wow, not sure how I missed that... My mistake. lol. Well, if you need to fix your speedometer, there ya go!
  14. Quit worrying what other people think, everyone has skeletons in their closet, trust me. Also, everyone gets a job with something they have no experience in. Obviously something got you in the door. Your doomed if you let the negatives of life bring you down. Keep your head up.
  15. Not sure how this thread turned into a debate over education, but I'll give my 2 cents. Education is simply what you make of it, just like everything else in life. If you put your heart and soul into it (or anything for that matter) you will be successful. Do you have to have a college education to be successful in life??? Depends on your definition of successful. I don't have a college degree (I do have a technical cert, but I don't use it) but have busted my buns in the same industry for 7 years now. Worked while my wife went to school to get her degree. Now 7 years later, she has been in the work force for 2 years and is smoking my salary like there is no tomorrow. Do I regret not having a college degree? Not at all. I make a good living and if something happened to my wife's career tomorrow, I could support her and our 2 children. Would it have been easier with a college degree? Hands down yes. But I have a great sense of accomplishment for getting where I am today. You live and you learn. College may be for you, and it may not be. If it's not, then understand you are going to have to work harder, longer and better than the guys to your left and right, because chances are, they do have a degree. If you can deal with that, and go into everything you do like that, you will be fine. Good luck.
  16. There is a small hole down near the bottom of the motor (on the "blade" looking side opposite of the prop). That hole is what reads to your speedometer.. Often this hole gets plugged with wood or other debris.
  17. If you can find the jig heads why not just get your skirts and tie them yourself? You can either put your own skirt combos together or you can get ones that are ready to go...
  18. "Holy Moses" "Son of biscuit eater" "Scuba Steve... d**n you!!" Sometimes it's just dead dwelling silence...
  19. Single blade buzzbaits don't lean (aren't supposed to lean). They simply run the the right a little on retrieve. Make sure your wire is in perfect line with your hook.
  20. Always nice to win the first one of the year! Think we would have been at 18 or so if those two hadn't come unbuttoned! Was a great night on an awesome night... Never would have guessed we were going to be the only ones on them!
  21. RC STX in pro blue or clown
  22. I generally tend to get good entertainment out of your posts, and the responses. I thank you sir! lol
