  1. We are renting a house in Palmetto Dunes in mid July for 10 days. Anybody have any info on some fishing that can be done in the lagoons and such. I will be fishing from the bank, and really have no interest in surf fishing. Basically wanting to target any species living in the lagoon system. With that what type of tackle should I bring? I'm coming from Kansas and will be able to take any/all of my gear with me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Did you give up on the idea? Saw Scott Martin hand lining Goliath Grouper the other day.
  3. depending on lake, season, wind, time of day etc... Bladed jig Buzz bait Jig wacky rig weightless fluke Shaky head Can't really give you a favorite out of those, but any one of those will do the trick. They have all produced well.
  4. Usually when the lipless bite is on, it's hold on to your rod a little tighter during the retrieve type of bite... Really like it when they knock about 3 feet of slack in my line.
  5. Nice video. Sweet day on the water for sure.
  6. I would say that you should try it with a leader and go off of your own experience from their. Obviously not using a leader isn't working out for you, so try one. If it works, great. If not, move to Kansas. We don't have that problem here. lol
  7. If only they were 10# bass... lol. Bet the tournament location would be changed thursday... lol
  8. Grew up fishing a lot of the strip pits in south east kansas. Good stuff.

  10. Got some buddies that use it on their layout duck boats. Work perfect and only have $150-$200 in them.
  11. Amen, God Bless, and Thanks to all those who have fallen and are currently serving.
  12. Prayers sent.
  13. You guys have given me food for thought. I was brought up public school in small town USA (70 kids in my graduating class). My wife came from one of the largest and top ranked school systems in the state. We both had great experiences but we both also saw things and were exposed to things that kids and young teenagers shouldn't be. I don't blame our school system at all, rather, the kids in that system which equals to blaming the true wrong-doers, the parents of those children. What it boils down to is teaching your children right from wrong, always support and show interest in their lives, hobbies, friends etc and this (more often than not) will allow them to make good choices regardless of the situations around them.
  14. Congrats on the PB. Always sweet, especially on a new technique
  15. What would you say are the disadvantages? For instance, my daughters both love soccer. Do they have an opportunity for sports scholarships or any scholarships for that matter? Do you feel like you are ahead, on track or behind the average public school kid as far as education, social skills etc? Obviously with having two little girls I would love to shelter them and keep under my wing, but I don't want to hinder their dreams and ambitions either. The income isn't as big of a deal to us. We paid just over $20k last year in child care expenses. That eats a lot of the second income. So we have been looking at the fact that we may be able to kill two birds with one stone. Have a greater influence on our children, and not have to worry about the second income.
  16. Looks like a pretty clean boat. I'm not a Johnson fan, so I would walk away from it personally. I also never pay asking price, so even if they dropped it to $8k that would work. Regardless if the boat is 15 minutes away or 15 hours away there isn't a snowballs chance in the hot place that I'd buy it without at least a compression test.
  17. You guys crack me up! Lol
  18. Congrats buddy! Hard work pays off! Enjoy the party!
  19. Have you been home schooled for all of your schooling? My wife has been considering doing it for our children.

  22. Well, I care about the fish and all the guys I fish with handle them the same way. It's common knowledge, but some people don't have common sense, there inlays the problem. Good post and any good post will stir up controversy. That's what usually brings some of the most educational posts (and also some of the most entertaining )
