  1. I use the Fritts reel (4.7 - 1) with a 7' BPS Crankin Stik for this application. They aren't fancy but cast a country mile, I couldn't be more pleased! Caught the big girl in my avatar with this.
  2. I just thought this might be interesting and fun. We always debate our favorites but this may open some eyes. I am blessed to have mostly nice high end gear....HOWEVER.... My PB in my avatar was caught with a BPS Crankin Stick and a BPS David Friitts Cranking Reel (bait = Strike King series 5 in sexy shad)
  3. I have both (have my premier on an e21). Both are excellent reels in IMHO. The premier has magnetic brakes and the MG50 has centrifigal brakes. I think the MG50's brakes are slightly more effective. I feel like the premier may backlash slightly more easily although I think it may cast a bit further. Personally I prefer the MG50 just slightly although these are my favorite reels along with my TDZ's. This is personal and reflects just my experience and skill level. I like light reels and have only been baitcasting a couple years.
  4. Matter of fact I was wearing a Yankee hat....that's probably why they didn't ask any questions!!!
  5. I broke my Shimano Cumara fishing today. Let's just say stupidity played a part. Not trying to start a debate on brands but here is what happened at the ramp at the end of the day. I was fishing Old Hickory Lake in Nashville and there is a great bait shop there....Flipper's....if you are ever fishing here I recommend these folks. I was told of the over the counter warranty and I was amazed when I took the rod into the store to ask about it. I told them I didn't buy it there and no longer had a receipt. They said no problem, charged me a $35. shipping fee and exchanged the rod no questions asked. Talk about convenience!!! I have my replacement immediately with no hassle. Very cool and a great way to treat customers. I was impressed.

Which games are you going to? Going to try to hit the UAB game. Everything else is either too rich for me or taking place on a hunting weekend. All of them!!....UAB is a noonish game, maybe we can get together post game for a brew?
  7. What's football? ;D It's a popular sport played outside of Kentucky

  9. Have a great Birthday!!!
  10. I just got back in. Boy was it hot!!!! Caught 4 and my buddy caught 3.....jigs and crankbaits are what worked.... I'm feeling over cooked right now!!!
  11. I suspect Manny will continue being Manny in Boston. Like happened before he'll want too much from a new team (he still has trade veto) and the Bosox won't be able to get enough in return. He's a great talent and will settle down once again. I'll bet Red Sox nation will forgive and forget the next time he puts on a game winning performance. Just another episode of Manny being Manny!
  12. Great to see you back!
  13. I've created a monster fellas.... Since I took my sons to Yankee Stadium last weekend my oldest has become obsessed after being there for two Bomber wins! He wears his Yankee gear all the time, is hitting the sports bars (he's 30) to watch all the games he can etc.... etc... It's a great thing to witness!!! He is a math and physics teacher and has done some interesting research. Based on the populations of New York and Boston payrolls of their respective teams break down as follows per citizen: Yankees and Mets combined = $16 per citizen Red Sox = $23 per citizen Yes Muddy, the Bronx is responsible for 2/3 of that. Just goes to prove where the evil team resides! ;D The crazy and best thing is that we were there for the start of the current win streak....I'm thinking we should go more often

  17. Yep, Heaven is where you go when you're dead ;D
  18. Yep, Land filled with world series trophies ;D
  19. I'm fired up fella's..... Taking my sons to the Cathedral this weekend....will be at the stadium Fri nite and Sun afternoon. They have been Yankee fans all their lives (they had no choice in the matter)and are finally getting to go. Regardless of how the team is doing this year it will be a great time with them. I still remember the day my oldest son was born I came home to watch the Red Sox beat us....that sucked....but we did win the Series that year (78) beating the Dodgers...that was sweet! Leavin in the AM.....GO PINSTRIPES!!!!
  20. You have been missed by many here....hope the discussions go well for all and you get back in the groove...
  21. I've been a whitewater canoist for many years. I have done a number of rivers up to class III & IV. The V's were a bit much for me although I've rafted some. With my advanced age I mostly stick with class II & easy III's these days. I went last weekend and had a ball.
  22. My thoughts and prayers are with you my friend.
  23. Was just thinking about this beacuse RW always uses the phrase "Goodnight Irene" when he shuts down a thread. I've heard this phrase quite often over the years. Anyone know who Irene is or was? Where did this phrase come from?
