Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
My brother and I were banging out the LMB from Nutting's Lake in Billerica, MA, specifically the side which boarders Route 3. The bite got really good right in the middle of the lake right about 6:30pm (black/white spinner bait and a green swim jog with green single tail grub), but alas the fish police paid us a visit because we were without our lights. I didn't even realize that was an issue for a 10ft plastic boat, but the guy was cool about it and only issued us a warning as well as provided some additional information that was helpful. Looks like a trip to Bass Pro is in order so we can keep on the lake when the sun goes down.

Starting A Bass Fishing Club At My College! Need Huge Help!
I am not sure how much advice I can provide for starting a college fishing club, however there are a few ideas that I can offer: This will be a huge undertaking so you need to break it into small pieces while working through it, otherwise you could end up overwhelmed and just give up on the whole idea. Not sure if you have ever head the anecdote: How do you eat an elephant? The answer is one bite at a time, and that is the tact you need to take with something like this. There will be a lot of politics and second-guessing about the College putting any money into a fishing club, but if you continue to push with a clear and concise plan you will persevere. Scott F. had a great suggestion, get an unofficial club going first so that you can gauge the response to this new group. If you get a good response you will have more help in trying to develop your clubs plan, as well as more potential connections within the College itself. You can also show a history of the meet-up that this club had, which will help you show the College that there are people interested in being a part of this. The community outreach will be a huge factor in getting this accomplished. You need to show that this is more than just a bunch of folks getting together and fishing, but rather a community of people who are committed to the stewardship of the environment (specifically the water in this case). I live in Mass and have been to the white mountains a number of times, it is the pristine untouched nature of the area that makes it special. Your club should espouse making sure the places you fish stay that way. Best of luck with your club.

Ever Call Out Sick To Go Fishing?
I only call in sick when I am sick, but I have thought of it just can't pull the trigger.

Dirty Primers?
You could always bring the ammo into Bass Pro and show them at the lodge what it looks like, they may be willing to exchange the ammo for another box. You can call Winchester about it, they are normally pretty good about working with customers when there are concerns with the ammo.

Mag Tech Ammo??
I have shot plenty of Magtech range ammo, but I have not shot any of their defense stuff. No issues at all with the ammo in both 9mm and 45.

Snake In My House
I am also on the snake hating bandwagon. Glad we don't have much of anything for snakes here in MA.

Interesting Facebook Post From A River Guide....
Bad business practice, and a complete lack of respect for his customers. That type of business model won't last long as far as I am concerned.

An Answer To The "why Do You Fish" Question
That's some deep stuff Blue. I guess I can relate to it; fishing is relaxing, enjoyable, and one of those sports that you can put as much or as little effort in to while still gaining a feeling of accomplishment when you catch a fish.

Guide, Charge Or Comp That Is The Question!
Like hunting, nothing is guaranteed. I would be happy to accept a discount but would not expect anything or demand anything of the guide. As long as he did his best to put us in good positions and the fish weren't biting it's not his fault, he did his job. It's called fishing not catching.

Which Would You Choose?
Senko's rigged weights Texas style, though I do need to put a little more effort into trying wacky style. Still new to fishing so I am trying to become proficient in each style I try before getting into another. Too many balls up in the air and you end up sucking at everything.

When's Your Fishing Pref?
I prefer the first half of the day; sun rise to about noon time, maybe 2pm if the fish are biting.
