  1. I gotta agree with ya. Some of the most stressful times I had at my job was when I had to deal with the temp's problems. My bosses didn't have to deal with it so they didn't understand that 3 of the temps showed up to drunk or high to operate the equipment. I could tell you stories of people leaving for a half hour lunch and not coming back for 3 hours. And when they did come back they weren't in any shape to work. I would fax a list of temps I wanted back and out of 20 people that week I would have maybe 3 names on the list. The temp agency would complain to my boss and he would tell me to just deal with the people they send. After a year I was looking for a new job just to get out of that situation. I finally quit when I got a job with a different company for less money. I wasn't worth the stress and toll it was taking on my health.
  2. I know this from both sides. I worked as a temp out of high school and eventually worked as a supervisor who was responsible for training temps. Temp agencies just want warm bodies. I agree that if you want 1 good temp you order 10. I did that on a 3rd shift job and out of the 5 that showed up only 1 was left at the end of the night. I'm sure the agency we went through did not drug test cause most of them would not have passed. I don't know what happened in the last 30 yrs. in this country. When I started out working you had to be on time and work hard to keep the job. No wonder most jobs are being outsourced to Mexico, China, Canada, Vietnam or any other country. Its not just that they work for less, its also that they show up and work.
  3. I don't have any buffs but am planning on buying the head, sleeves, and gloves. A friend of mine who is in his early 30's just got diagnosed with skin cancer. He told me to protect myself with sunscreen, long sleeved shirt and hat when ever I can. I'm sure we all have been on the water when the sky was cloudy and then the sun comes out and it gets really hot. Better safe than sorry. Personally I don't care how I look when I'm fishing. As far as other peoples reasons for wearing buffs, if you do it to look cool I'm ok with that. If you do it to protect yourself from skin cancer I'm ok with that too.
  4. Awesome score. It never hurts to ask about stuff like discounts and combos. Don't forget to post some pics of the hawgs you get with your new setup.
  5. Flipping and pitching requires a heavy or xtra heavy rod, usually over 7', with a fast or xtra fast tip. I agree with Hamma, frog fishing and the a rig are 2 other techniques that go good with a big, heavy rod.
  6. Most of the big bass I've caught have come on baits that were slow moving. Jigs and big worms are the baits that have caught the biggest bass for me. Mainly because big fish in lakes that I fish mostly seem to stay under the heaviest weeds they can find.
  7. Eli Apple is off the board. I was hoping my Steelers would get him to help their bad pass defense.

I usually find a cheap pair of polarized sunglasses by the time I start my LMB fishing. I don't buy expensive sunglasses because they always get broken by the end of the year.
  9. You're good people bassh8er. Pass it on. Encouraging the next generation is the best way to keep bass fishing and conservation alive.
  10. Ba-da-dum....Thanks folks and don't forget to tip your waitress.
  11. Dannnnnggg dude, you're armed for bear. What are you fishing for...Sharks????
  12. Zoom Horny Toad for me. It can be rigged weedless and I've even caught fish running it subsurface like a wake bait.
  13. There is a lake in the poconos like that with tannic water. Had a good population of healthy fish. I used both dark and light colored baits. Both seemed to get bites. It does go against common knowledge but experimentation is needed in your case.
  14. Only problem with an appeal at this point is if he loses the appeal it will probably be during the regular season and he will have to serve the suspension after the first four games. Possibly into the playoffs. If I was Brady I wouldn't take the chance.
  15. Call in a drone strike. Tactical responses always work. Or call the mob, put a hit out on that furry little youknowwhat. I know a guy with no neck you can contact. He takes care of things like this.
  16. A woman who use to be the best male athlete in the world.
  17. Lets see...favorite jig trailer...where to start? Ok let me go thru my list. Zoom Chunk Reaction Innovation Sweet Beaver GY Flappin' Hog Yum Wooly Bug Power Team Lures Diesel Craw Havoc Craw Fatty Berkley PowerBait Powercraw Havoc Pit Boss and I've got a few that are so old I don't know what company made them or even if they are still made anymore. Oh and sometimes I just put on a single tailed or double tailed grub. Hope this helps make up your mind on what you should use next time your fishing a jig or give you a good idea how mentally sick I really am when it comes to fishing lures.
  18. Pretty much all the reasons stated above are why I fish Keitech swimbaits as much as possible. They catch fish, period.
  19. Smart move Chris. Boats easy to get at and you still have all the garage space.
  20. I just started keeping them in the original packaging but putting the packs in deep tackle trays. I have most of my soft plastics out of the packaging in tackle trays. I haven't had any problems with storing my plastics except when I put them in the clear plastic binder sleeves. Those things were terrible. Any plastics I put in them seemed to leak out. Not to mention the floating worms I put into one sleeve got flattened out.
  21. It doesn't bother me. Bass are a tough species. They are not like trout. I've caught bass, had them drop off my lure and hit the dirt. I pick them up, took a pic and release them and they are fine. Even if someone decides to take their limit and fillet them and eat them I got no problem with that.
  22. To me trees are trees no matter what kind. Lay down logs I fish with a jig or spinner bait. Sometimes I'll throw a soft plastic texas rigged or a tube. Stand up trees I will start at a distance throwing a crankbait around the tree. Move your boat around the tree, if you can, to get different angles. A square billed crankbait bumped into the tree can get some real big reaction bites. If I don't get anything with the crankbait then I move in closer with a jig or worm to get upclose to the base.
  23. I only wish I could striper fish more. Being landlocked ain't that fun.
