  8. this is a great thread. It's cool to see the backgrounds of some people on the board. I dont get to go saltwater fishing that much anymore but when I was 6-7 years old my family would go up to Cape Cod every summer and I would always fish with my uncle out in the sea. We mostly fished for stripers, but he was a big tuna fisherman and was always in tourneys and such for them. One day he took me tuna fishing when I was 11 years old and told me I would get whatever he made off the fish I caught. I didn't catch a large enough tuna to sell but my uncle still gave me 200 bucks from a 850 pounder he caught. I am pretty sure that those tunas would sell for much more than that. My family moved back up north to upstate NY and we go down to cape cod every now and then, but not nearly as much as we used to. I kind of miss those long days at sea with my uncle now that I think about it. Thank god I live right on a lake so I can fish all day, I am truly thankful for that.
  9. That's the new england jig right there!!! :)
  10. I have never really encountered a problem with the speed of this site. My family and I use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and it seems to be a lot faster. Another thing regarding donations, I agree exactly with what Ghoti said. Members should have the option to donate if they can, but their should be no special reward. The reward is helping out something you believe in. If you volunteer at a homeless shelter they don't give you a new car, all you get is the satisfaction of knowing you did something kind.
  11. that 8 1/2 is realllly fat. probably had a few trout bars in her. Go nail that 14+ !!!!!
  12. 1/8 oz black/blue terminator finesse jig w/ a smaller blue zoom chunk.
  13. I agree, that will serve you well for years and I would go with 6'6'' MH and a 2500 size reel
  14. most people dont refer to a spot remover with a trick worm as a jig so why should a spot remover with a hula grub be called a jig?
  15. i think the poster above is reffereing to the heddon torpedo? Anyways I have both the prop and pop as well as skitterwalks and my favorite out of them all in the skitterwalk. It has good walk the dog action and drives bass nuts. In my opinion they all produce decent results and you can't go wrong if you fish them the right way in the right conditions( early morning/ late evening)
  16. yeah and if you buy 50 bucks worth you get 10 dollars off! I got 5 packs of senkos 2 packs of swimming senkos, and 5 packs of ikas then got 10 bucks off all that!
  17. another DD from Varner! How many double digit bass do you think are in there?
  18. That's awesome! Bet you didn't expect a PB from a lake you don't know much about. It sounds like you caught her from shore, that must have been a rush!
  19. I have 3,000 yards on the way of 6lb test 8-) I love the 6lb. on spinning reels.
  20. I store mine the same way Burley does in Plano waterproof boxes...except I have 3 of them full now ;D
  21. im guessing roadwarrior has at least 10,000 yards of yo-zuri in the mail ;D ;D
  22. dan did you try them trigged weightless with good results?
  23. awesome bass way to slay em in tough conditions!
  24. I like those H30 glasses someone linked. But my friend has polorized Oakley Half Jackets that I fished in one day and thats what made me buy myself a pair of polarized glasses, they worked really well. I now own a pair of costa del mars and I LOVE them!
