Congrats, I have been pretty inactive as of now due to the fact that, well, I just don't fish much with this ice. Remember those of you who don't have many posts that it really doesn't matter. What matters is you learn as much as you can and leave this site a better fisherman every day.

I see people out on our lake already with their shantys and half the lake isn't even frozen. They are literally within 500 yards of open water, but still out their with the shantys.

dedication defenitly sums that up. Hey at least you have the pics to show for it. We got hit with the same ice storm and I didnt even once think about going fishing, its been like 2 and a half months now.

I caught my first ever smallie on a senko while fishing for largemouth. After that I was specificaly targetting them with senkos, but found I had better luck with more traditional smallie baits such as tubes or jerkbaits.

Wow that is really thin ice. Be careful out there. Here in NY we had a massive ice storm and it pulled down power lines. I was powerless for 3/4 of the day today and they had canceled school just a couple hours ago . First snow day of the year, but it is really an ice day.

Anything over 7 and it will be a great year! I will always take the 4's 5's and 6's too, as those are few and far between up here.
