Best braids for baitcasters
Original powerpro is one of the worst lines today for digging in. Modern 8 strand braids such as Sufix 832 are better.ive used j braid and feel it's to soft and digs in also.Find a good 8 strand braid you like and use at least 50 lb. I'm not saying it will never sign but it should be less. .

New to bass fishing.
those colors are perfect. you first need to understand seasonal patterns. based on the time of year and water temp you will have a better idea of bass location. depending on where you live fish are either spawn or just starting to enter prespawn phase from wintering phase.do some research on seasonal patterns.

Best braids for baitcasters
All these guys who say they never had digging in issues with braid are just not telling the truth. All braids will dig in no matter what brand or diameter if you pull on them hard enough. It's the nature of the beast. Wide spools have this happen less than narrow due to crosiing the line more. The thicker the diameter the less it will happen. You see Pros using 50 65 and 80 on casting gear for a good reason . That reason is it works the best. I've used 20 30 40 50 65 and 80 over a 30 year period and have to agree with them. Smaller diameters are best on spinning rods. I'm not saying you can't use them on casting but the bigger diameters work better with less issues. Finally !!!! The truth comes out.

Scent on hands
I rub my hands in smelly jelly crawfish scent.then wash it off and dry them. The smell of crawfish lingers and covers anything else.

What's up with fluorocarbon?
You need 8lb invizx or tatsu by seaguar. I would never use a reel smaller than a 4000 size spinning. Look at KVD he uses 4000 size spinners for easier line management. I would take his suggestion as he is the absolute best ever. The bigger spool produces less line twist. That said I hate flourocarbon and refuse to use it for those reasons you mention. I tried a bunch of times to like it but give up every time. This season I'm fishing Sufix Advance Mono. I don't use spinning anymore because Baitcasting has less line issues once you learn how to use it.i use 8 lb mono on a 7ft medium action rod for finesse.

lew's mach crush bait caster questions
the mach crush has a 4 pin centrifugal brake and a magnetic brake. the dial for the magnetic brake should click. backlash at the start of a cast requires more centrifugal brake. backlash during a cast requires more magnetic brake. a trained thumb helps.

Is my new line twisted, have bad memory, or bad?

Hook setting
If the bite feels like a machine gun it's panfish. A single thump is a bass. A 5 inch senko should have a 3.0 or 4.0 ewg hook.
