I think the weather this year has the spawn messed up in a lot of areas. It was pretty late here in Iowa and I think there may still be some bass spawning in some bodies of water yet.

People can get in legal trouble and do get in legal trouble for cheating in tourneys. The problem here is how long ago those tourneys happened and the lack of evidence other than another person's word.

I 100% agree. It reminded me of watching a documentary.

He did a bunch of different things. Snagged bass on different lakes then staged them in areas to pretend he caught them during a tourney. Snagged bass on one lake then brought it to another lake to claim he caught the record there. Took a photo of himself holding another perso ‘s bass then claimed it was his and used it to claim he caught the record on two different lakes. Snagged bass to show he could catch big bass for his social media and promote his sponsors. The list goes on. Reminds me of Lance Armstrong.

It can take a while to get credible evidence. Word of mouth can only go so far and it sounds like that’s all they had for a long time. Seems like he was a professional scammer.

For quantity it's a tie between a wacky rigged senko and the ned rig. For quality it's the chatterbait.

I came very close to this happening to me last year in a tourney. It would have cost me third place and a good amount of money. If I'm fishing an area that I know I do not have cell service I make sure I get off the water early enough so that I can get to an area with service or WiFi and submit my fish before the deadline. I know it sucks but it you can't get your fish submitted in time then you are SOL. TourneyX is a software used for managing kayak tourneys. They go by photos of fish on a measuring board and tourneys are won based on length.

If it's humid out there isn't much at all I can do. I run into the same problems.

If you can find a Catch 120 for a good price I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I stay completely covered when out in the sun fishing. I wear a sun shirt, light fishing pants, gloves and something to cover my neck and ears like a buff or hood. A lot of people don't get it but it makes a world of difference for me. I love that I don't have to worry about getting sunburned. It does a decent job of keeping me cool. It keeps me clean. I feel a lot better after a long day of fishing wearing this gear compared to being out there in shorts and a t-shirt.

I recommend the Pelican Catch 120 over the Ascend kayak if buying new. Keep an eye out for sales right now or see if you can find a good, used kayak on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

I find it entertaining. I get bored watching guys not catch fish. I want to see guys break a lake down and try to find the fish. I like seeing the tension of trying to make the cut. It's fun.

I throw the chatterbait in all conditions. I have yet to try throwing just a swim jig.

It looks like you have a good selection of lures so you're good there. Once you have the right lures with you then it's a matter of fishing the right locations. Finding fish when it's still cold can be tough. Fishing very slow is also important. Sometime just letting a ned rig sit at the bottom for a while can be the trick.

I haven't caught a lot of fish yet this year but I've caught a lot of quality fish. The majority of all my catches have been over 18" and I got my PB on Easter.

I recommend buying one of their better chatterbait models like the Custom model from Tackle Warehouse.

I had Zaldain on my roster for a while and then took him out last minute. Now my highest placed angler is like 23rd. One of my guys doesn't even show he's caught a bass yet. Gross.

Take very little with you the first time out because you have no idea how it 's going to feel or handle. Once you get a good feel for it you'll have a much better idea of how you want to rig it.

I'm still fairly young and I won't turn down help loading my kayak. lol It can be a pain sometimes.
